Chronical Warfare is a pop-punk/alternative rock band from Queensland, Australia. The band consists of Nick "Nikko" Akers (Lead vocals, Guitar), Matt "Flat" Taylor (Guitar, Vocals), Richard "Richo" Earnshaw (Drums) and Laighton "Lamington" Gunn (Bass guitar). All 4 members of the band are residing in the suburb of Redcliffe in Queensland.
In 2003 the idea emerged to form a band, but there were complications with the lineup, and none us knew how to play any instruments. However we all began to take lessons, and 2 years later things finally started to take off and the idea was refurged with new life. Finally after many conflicts and lineup changes (at one point Flat was going to be our singer(!)), we finally settled on the current lineup.
The band usually comes over to Richo's house to practise, learn covers and create new songs around once every 3 weeks, with at least one practise a week during school lunchtimes in the music room at our school. We played a lot of covers. Of course, we're not just a cover band, we've currently got 7 originals completely finished under our belts titled Hold Me Now, One Day, Lost Hopes and Dreams, Shards of Light, Turn Off the Lights, Chasing Ghosts and Take My Hand... with all lyrics written by the drummer Richo except for Chasing Ghosts which was written by Knickers.... (Richo also does all the tech stuff...like managing this site and ripping the mp3s from their live performances!! Hello ppl!)

JANUARY 2007 Update: w00t! We made alot of progress lately completing 3 originals entitled Hold Me Now, an original based on the story of a girl moving away, Shards of Light, an original based on the events of a dying man as he crashes his car whilst driving drunk, and a completely random upbeat tune called Turn off the lights. All 3 are brilliant and possibly the best work we've done so far. Recordings may possibly come soon in the next few weeks! They'll probably the replace that rusty old live version of One Day we have or maybe that Breathing cover to showcase some more original stuff.

FEBRUARY 2008: Wow...I haven't logged in here for a year. Referring to the last update in January 2007 sometime, those songs were good but we never ended up recording them. Oh well.
Anyway, this band was fun while it lasted. We disbanded over a year ago, but we had some fun times. There's a hilarious video me and Nikko made in the videos section of this myspace...check it out. Its some funny stuff. As for this band, there were good times and bad times but I'll focus on the highlights: the gigs at youth and the battle of the bands where we won $50 for best original song. While it didn't last, it was fun all the same and we had some good times rehearsing in the school music room at lunchtimes and in my garage on weekends. But at the end of the day, this project is over, and all members have since moved on. Thanks to anyone who's ever checked out our page, listened to our songs or dropped us a line.
