C.H.R.Y.S.E.I.S (Consortium of Human Resistance from Yuggoth for the Search and Exploration of Irregular Systems) was originally formed in 1996.
After leaving their original bands, Uruk-Xul Chaac Uayeb (ex CYANID) -drums- and Omnio "The Voice" (ex MAELSTROM) -guitar and bass- asked Sébastien Manequin and Magali Karpa to join the new band on vocals and keyboards.
Since the beginning the sound evolved in a progressive direction.
- In 1996 the first band's demo -Realms of Kalayan- a piece of Dark Epic Atmospheric was recorded.
- In 1998 the second demo -Battles Sunset- (Epic War Metal) was recorded without Sébastien -who left to pursue other musical directions (EITHWAZ).
- In 2001 The third demo -Astronomicon- (Epic Thrash-Death with french lyrics) which is the link between the old CHRYSEIS and the new was written and recorded by the two band formers -without Magali- with the help of Frank Julien (ex ABJECT, EITHWAZ) on bass (Magali and Frank both formed RAVEN CROWN with the others ex members of CYANID). Despite of their poor production these 3 demo recordings received good critics especially -Astronomicon- (Hard Rock Magazine, Metallian and other zines).
- In 2003 the two band formers Uruk-Xul & Omnio -back to a duo formation- give a new orientation to the C.H.R.Y.S.E.I.S project, becoming more than only a musical project. An original epic & dystopic fiction with elements taken from the mythology of Cthulhu of H.P Lovecraft is developped in the same time to give to the songs written a new dimension with awesome visuals and sounds. This fiction is born under the name of "The Chronicles of Gaia". The first chapter of these chronicles, is the self produced album "Presence of the Past" oriented Progressive Thrash-Death metal with futuristic concept.
The band line up is now complete with Jey (see also JEYPARK) who plays the lead guitars and Sebh who plays the bass. The technical habilities, creativity and kind personnality of these experienced musicians lead us to ask them to join the project...
Johann Bodin (aka YOz in our Top Friends) who received the 2007 Art & Fact reward for best french SF graphist has done the artwork of the second album "Planet Dead" signed on Great Dane Records and released in april 2010.
The band is now working on the third album "Uchronies From Beyond".

En dépit de leur piètre qualité d'enregistrement ces 3 démos reçurent de bonnes critiques, en particulier -Astronomicon- (Hard Rock Magazine, Metallian et autres fanzines).
- En 2003 les deux membres fondateurs Uruk-Xul et Omnio donnent une nouvelle orientation au projet CHRYSEIS, qui devient plus qu'un simple projet musical. Une cyber-fiction originale épique et dystopique ponctuée d'éléments empruntés à la mythologie Cthulhu de H.P Lovecraft est développée afin de donner aux titres composés une dimension supplémentaire avec un son et un visuel particuliers. Cette fiction est née sous le nom "Les Chroniques de Gaïa". Le premier chapitre de ces chroniques, l'album "Presence of the Past" est autoproduit dans un genre musical orienté Thrash-Death Progressif avec un concept futuriste.
Le line-up est au complet: Jey (JEYPARK) est aux lead guitars et Sebh assure les parties de basse. Les capacités techniques, la creativité et la personnalité de ces musiciens expérimentés nous ont amené à leur proposer de rejoindre le projet...

Juillet 10, retour au studio mammouth pour poser la voix de JF sur le titre Bereaved rebaptisé self made bastards. Un enregistrement de plusieurs nouveaux titres est prévus dans les semaines qui viennent.
