French Metal-Hard-Rock band formed in the beginning of the 80' by Patrick
Gestède (vocals), Pascal Carré (bass), Pascal Porchedda
(drums) and Lionel Brandwyk (guitar), young teenagers and
school friends. To amplify what will become one of his
trademarks, choruses doubles-guitars, the quartet will
appoint the services of a second guitarist, Bruno Dandrimont.
This last one will leave towards other heavens after one
year to collaborate with artists of renowned variety show.
As well as Lionel Brandwyk attracted by other lights.....
Frederick Begin (guitar) will pop in at the combo which will
find its ideal team with the arrivals of Didier Jadot and
Dominique Melin (guitars). Didier Parthenay will replace
provisionally the initial drummer. The band, influenced by
Iron Maiden, Judas Priest or UFO, among others, but
having also very much listened to Rush, Kansas or Styx will
develop an always tuneful but muscular rock, sometimes even
sophisticated and confusing. The often present choirs, the
changes of rhythm and the well-kept melodies will be ahead
of at their time, in France in any case, and the combo will
sometimes evolve in a style on the verge of a power-metal
which did not exist. Looking after the aestheticism on
stage CHRYSIS will invade concert halls, using several tv
shows, multiplying the radio interviews and in the papers to be
listened. The "mouth to ear" will work.
Artists and record companies smelt the good stuff... But, by
having had the peculiarity to refuse the propositions of the
Majors which asked them to sing in French, what they never
accepted, after a first single and several demos, five
musicians preferred to lay down arms without accepting the
slightest dishonest compromise. At the beginning of 2009,
four of them announce their return, encouraged by the
craze of old and new afficionados who (re) discover them
thanks to the new technologies. An album should be born
during the year. ( Wikipedia information). Traduction française
