| Bio | I worked as a radio DJ for many years(WKBW, WHAM, WBEN, WGR, WBBF, and many other smaller stations, that frankly, were crapholes managed by raving nitwits). I grew up listening to lots of funny djs on WKBW in my hometown of Buffalo, NY - and lots of funny on-air guys on many other stations. One of my "great" accomplishments was my former position as one of the voices of Eckerd Radio(Eckerd Drug Store chain's in-store broadcast system) - man, old ladies in Florida would hear me and mail me their support hose.
I always thought of myself as a comedy person who does his comedy on the radio. Many in the industry thought otherwise about me, although a few cool PDs I worked for thought I was really a unique talent...most notably former nationally renowned bigshot PD(and now owner of a growing radio station group) Bobby Hatfield. He thought my comedy was great and felt in a perfect world I'd be working in New York. The drug dealer mp3 bit I've attached on this page - he liked it so much, he brought his son into the station one saturday to listen to it.
Shortly into this new century, my radio career died out(like so many others around the country), due to corporate media consolidation and digital automation. But when your life is in the Sewer, make SewerAde - and I did just that - I started doing standup comedy. I used to be the regular host of the weekly Daily Perks Comedy Cavalcade in Rochester. Ah, that brings back memories - fights, petty jealousies, middle school-style mocking of other comedians and of course, the love - everyone shared the love.
I recently got back into radio(sort of) My friend and comedy colloborator Del Rivers and I started an internet station - something called Vinyl Vortex - http://www.live365.com/stations/del_chuck - we play mostly lesser played and obscure tunes from the vinyl era of Top 40 and FM Rock. We also perform funny comedy bits, much like our new comedy CD on Rocket Racket Records.
For money, I work most every day as a substitute school teacher. Cheryl(my beloved significant other) and I also have a small lawn and landscape business. I would like to start getting professional out of town comedy gigs. Somebody contact me and offer me work...NOW!! I'm too lazy to make phone calls and network perso-to-person. That's why I need the internet - off stage, I'm a total recluse. Hire me. I demand it! I've got it coming!
