About me: I'm a 48 year old happily married guy from northeast Texas. I enjoy history, geneology, and being with my family. I am a member of Bugles Across America, a volunteer organization whose members make themselves aviailable to play TAPS at funerals of fallen military veterans. This is a great honor for me. I work as a Landman who researches land title records and contacts mineral owners about leasing their mineral interest to oil and gas exploration company's. My wonderful wife is a teacher, My oldest was married in October 08 to a wonderful young lady and is doing great in his own screen printing business and my youngest kid graduated from college in December of 07, Im loving the chance I have now to spend alot of time with her before she goes off into the the big world. I'm fortunate to have a happy family whom I love very much.
If you are a civil war history buff, lets chat. One of my great great grandfathers served as a private with the 12th Texas Infantry Regiment during the civil war. I havent verified this but it is possible that another great great grandfather served with the 4th Arkansas Infantry, another with the 6th Tennessee Calvary, CSA another with the 34th Alabama Infantry, and another with the 4th Tennessee Mounted Infantry, (Union). I have eight great great grandfathers and five of them may have served in the civil war that I know of. I also have a triple great grandfather who may have served in the 1st Alabama Infantry. If anyone has history of these particular regiments, I would love to talk to you. I've been a student of the war generally for a while and am just now getting into individual regiment historys related to my geneology.
Who I'd like to meet: Civil War Buffs, especially those with knowledge of the Trans-Mississippi theater of the war.
