Chucks Nation started with two friends, Rich and Marco, strumming rythm and lead guitar tunes in Rich's parents' basement during their college days. Marco went on his own for a couple years perfecting his skills at recording two, sometimes three, guitar tunes and drums by himself and mastering songediting skills that would end up useful with the band's do-it-yourself attitude. Having finished university, Marco went back to Montreal, where the group is currently based, and together with Rich started trying to create songs at a per-hour studio, hammering it out 3 nights a week for several months.
Having never touched a drum before, 22 year-old started on a rought quest to destroy drum sticks at a fast pace while trying to follow something resembling a fixed tempo. Four songs later, the search for other members began. Eric, having played bass guitar for several years but having left it untouched for 5 years decided to get back in the music scene. One session and a previously uncompleted song now finished, the band had three members and a chemistry good enough never to bother doing even a single cover.
Search for a rythm guitar and singer ended up bringing Frank a couple months later, although Frank's vocal skills ended up being all the motivation Eric needed to give a try at being lead singer. Frank complete a good music chemistry with a focal point in fast punk music inspired by 90's punk bands.
Three months after moving in their first permanent practice place, in december 2005, about 13 songs were crafted and the need to make an album started to urge the band to move and do something. Some 26 months later, the band had managed to record, produce and master their first album, which first came out in Montreal in January 2007 with very little fanfare. A couple of shows later, the band is now on a fast track to create new songs, already mid-way to a second album that may come out before the next moon landing.
We used to be called "Mumrik" that was looking for a singer and now we finally found a singer and the band name became STM since we are working together at a distance of 6000miles from Leeds, UK to Kyoto, Japan. And we uploaded 3 songs now. Check them and let me know what you think. Thanks.

"NIXA possess a quality that sets them apart from other front runners on the alt/rock scene with perfect dynamics and incredible song craft. They bounce between gentle and aggressive in a single beat, tied with soaring harmonies and mesmerising stage presence. This band will find themselves being listened to by a wide audience, no doubts in both the alternative and commercial rock scenes" TOTAL ROCK
"...done very, very well. Deep, powerful voice, BIG music and just the feeling that something very professional is happening -I don't mean in a clinical way, just in that way that, when you find out they're unsigned, it's a bit of a shock!" XFM
"The absolute epiphany of my weekend was London based Nixa. Everytime I see this band, I fall in love a little bit more. Their performance was stunning and it was definitely the climax of the night as things petered off afterwards. Their Biffy Clyro-esque style, gorgeous vocal harm
