I'm Haji, one of Chuck's sons, we just recently got our Club back about 3 months prior. Chuck had the place from 1970 to 1999, he had thought it was time to retire. After about 5 owners, NONE of the them could run the place like the original owner. In a sense you can say under New Management or Under the Original Management.
Chuck's was always known for 2 things; BANDS and PIZZA!! Watch for upcoming changes. I will be updating the MySpace account days to come.
I want all the bands to know we are still working with StepUp! Records. I will be handling most of the bookings. Don't hesitate to call me or contact Rikki from StepUp! Records.
We welcome all kinds of music. Just remember Chuck's is a club, age requirement, 21 and up.
Feel free to call me for a show....
Influences
After a long discussion, our family believes the pizza shop/club needed a name change. More so on the Pizza shop due to the Tarnish of reputation from the last owners. It was not an easy decision.
We went with: EDDIE'S PIZZA and PUB....
The name comes from Chuck's (my dad's) uncle from the old country and my brother's nickname. My dad's uncle taught him how to make pizza from scratch.
As for the club we are still booking bands. ROCK, ALTERNATIVE, and PUNK...

EDDIE's (formerly known as Chuck’s) is one of Akron's live music venues located only minutes away from The University of Akron, downtown Akron, and Interstates 76 and 77. Our address is 456 East South Street (between Brown and Grant). The club is great place to watch and play live music in The Rubber City. Great shows performances by local favorites such as Drenalin, First Offense, The Black Shoe Affair and Shane Vain and the Village Vandals.
Booking Policies for Bands
Booking: We are interested in booking all types of music. Style is way less important than attitude, Genre: ROCK, ALTERNATIVE, & PUNK. As for Country, we can discuss. EGOs & ROCK STARS no need to apply!
BOOKING: Easiest way is to call Haji at 330-384-8850 or send an email here.
Payment: In most cases bands split the door, we do try to give established out of towners a bigger share but it depends on the band. In some cases tickets will be sold and arrangements from pay will be determined on sales. Also as an incentive bonus' can given out depending on sales for the night.
Guarantees: For the most part we won't do 'em! We have made exceptions and probably will again, but only for bands that have beyond a shadow of a doubt earned their stripes and can bring in the necessary audience to reasonably insure we wont be paying out of pocket. Remember we are trying to run a business here with high overhead.
Guests Lists: Local bands get ONE person on the guest list. Touring bands get TWO guest list spots. Exceptions are made but arrangements need to made in advance before your show.
21 AND over. No one wants to get cited.
Pyrotechnics and Smoke machines are not allowed!!!!
Load in/Tear down: Load in is by 8:30 unless otherwise arranged, If your going to be late CALL THE BAR! Bands are to tear down immediately following their set, especially the last band of the night.
Also you are expected to promote your show, we will do what we can with bulletins and fliers, but remember that YOU get paid from the door or tickets, and you only get back what you put in.
Thank you for considering working with EDDIE's. If you have any question feel free to email or call.
Thanks and lets Rock the place,
Management
