Chuck Whiting is a publicist and educator who sidelines as a songwriter, composer and author. He hosts Tunesmithing on Music Row in Nashville on the first Thursday of each month.

Nashville artists/songwriters who have deeply inspired him include Nancy Moran, Fett, Deirdre Jenkins, Janey Street, Lisa Aschmann, Rand Bishop, Ester Nicholson, Denny Jiosa, Margo Smith, Conni Ellisor, Jim Stevens, Candy Paull, Donna Michael, Angel Pontier, Pete and Pat Luboff, Kelley Nelson Gibbs, Kimberly Maiers Shaw, Dennis Scott, Batya Wininger, Debbie Watts, Ed Haggard, and David Llewellyn.

Chuck composes/writes in a very broad range. His writing and performances range from show and classical instrumentals to adult contemporary jazz and pop. He also writes traditional and contemporary country songs, a must in Nashville. He especially loves working with strong lyricists.

He spent more than seven years working with artists at all levels as a PR professional at Opryland USA. As an artist, he identifies strongly with the challenges emerging and professional performers face as they work to establish successful careers. Determination, professionalism and creativity are all keys to stepping to the next level.
Chuck is the co-writer/co-author of "The Littlest Star: a musical story", a holiday hardback book and music CD featuring performances by country legend Margo Smith, Grammy nominee/jazz guitarist Denny Jiosa, and Nashville Chamber violinist Conni Ellisor. The book is available through major on-line music and book sites.
Chuck has developed an eight-song musical storytelling program for children of all ages based around his book and music CD, "The Littlest Star". The holiday program has been performed at bookstores, art galleries, schools, churches and other venues across the Southeast. In 2006, he received a songwriting award from the Songwriters Guild of America for the "Littlest Star Medley".
He also recently released a collection of original instrumentals performed on grand piano. He also is working on his first vocal project.
As a publicist, Chuck has teamed with the Songwriters Guild of America to put on a monthly show in Nashville called "Tunesmithing on Music Row". Songwriters who would like to perform 25-minute spotlight sets may submit a CD of original songs and a bio.
