A BRIEF HISTORY OF CHURCH FOR ALL NATIONS: Church For All Nations is the result of the church planting efforts of Life Journey's Ministries.
The original facility was dedicated on Easter of 1895 as a congregation of the Catholic Apostolic Church, an offshoot of the Anglican Church. The building's architecture is significant as one of the first terra-cotta structures in the city.
As a demonstration of permanence, the original congregation set the altar made of Italian marble on seven steel pillars that are sunk directly into the bedrock of New York City. Nonetheless, the Catholic Apostolic Church declined in time and the facility went unused for somewhere between 20 and 50 years. In 1994, the trustees of the facility approached the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod about using the facility in a way that would continue to honor the purpose for which the sanctuary was originally built. The arches and columns inside the nave are made of sandstone.
The building was re-dedicated at the first worship service as Church For All Nations, held Easter morning, 1997. The building served as a base headquarters for Life Journey's Ministries and other missionaries of the Atlantic District. The congregation was recognized as an official congregation in the Atlantic District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in June of 2000.

CORE BELIEFS: Being Lutheran, our congregations accept and teach Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. The teachings of Luther and the reformers can be summarized in three short phrases: Grace alone, Scripture alone, and Faith alone.
GRACE ALONE: God loves all the people of the world, even though they are sinful, rebellious against Him, and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love the unlovable and save the ungodly.
SCRIPTURE ALONE: The Bible is God's inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.
FAITH ALONE: By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him.
With the universal Christian Church, the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) teaches and responds to the love of the Triune God: the Father, creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God's Word and Sacraments. The three persons are coequal and coeternal, one God.
