JAMES CHWALYK, JR. (b. 1987) is a Music Education and Music Theory/Composition double major at Montclair State University. He is an active performer on both trombone and euphonium and has played in numerous venues including the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Algonquin Arts Theater, and Alexander Kasser Theater. James is a hired performer with the Garden State Concert Band, under the direction of Dominic Ferrara III, and has had the pleasure of playing under several prominent conductors on the eastern seaboard, including United States Air Force Assistant Drum Major Chief Master Sergeant Edward J. Teleky, Dr. Mary Ann Craig, Dr. William Sylvester, and Dr. Michael Votta. His works have been performed by the Bloomfield Youth Band and the Montclair State University Brass Quintet, among various other artists. In November 2006, his "’Reflections’ for Three Trombones" was premiered by international recording artists Anthony Mazzocchi, James T. Miller, and John Rojak at Montclair State University’s first annual “Trombone Day” festival. James also has a passion for theater, and currently serves as Music Director and Treasurer of the Charles Seller Foundation/Talent Time Players, a non-profit charitable theater organization based in his hometown of Bloomfield, NJ. In addition to his “behind the scenes” roles, James has appeared on stage in several community theater productions, and has played trombone for productions of Fiddler on the Roof, Annie Get Your Gun, West Side Story, Annie, The Nutcracker, Jesus Christ Superstar, South Pacific, and Guys & Dolls. He is an active member of the American Music Center, International Thespian Society, and the Ancient and Honorable Order of Turtles, and is a Past Master Councilor of Clifton Chapter who currently serves as Deputy State Master Councilor for New Jersey DeMolay and as President of Montclair State University Chapter 323 of the New Jersey Collegiate Music Educators National Conference. James is a composition student of Daniel Beliavsky.

Hey! Thanks for the add - Saturday was fun, it was nice to get a chance to hang out with one of Rob's friends!
