Chyco Siméon...
...was born in 1966 and spent all his childhood in one of the southern suburbs of Paris, Montrouge. He is of Caribbean origin. He was soon aware of his passion for music, a passion inherited from his father, a music lover who introduced him to all sorts of music, jazz, classical music, salsa, with West Indian music as the initial stimulus.
When he was twelve years old he finally met up with other musicians based in Montrouge, like Jean-Jacques Goldman and the Francfort brothers who later formed the group the Gibson brothers.
He created a group of hard-rock with friends from school but it wasn't until 1982 when he went to live in the Martinique that he really entered the world of music and chose as his favourite instrument the bass guitar (after testing the guitar, keyboards and drums).
He became the bass guitarist of the group Sunshine, with Tony Chasseur (Mario Cannonge ...), Pipo Gertrude (now a singer with Malavoi), Philippe joseph (Kassav) and Eric Bonheur when he was only sixteen and still at school . This group was quite successful for a time .
After Sunshine...
he frequently appeared on stage with famous Caribbean stars including the pianist from the Martinique, Marius Cultier.
In 1984...
the leader and guitar arranger of the group Crystal, Franck Donatien asked him to become their bass guitarist ... Thanks to him and the producer J-M Mauriello (President and founder of the company Hibiscus records) he discovered the world of the recording studio wich has become the core of his musical creation. He contributed to the elaboration of Crystal's second major work not only as bass guitarist but also composer.
From 1985 à 1986...
Chyco left the Martinique for Paris in order to pass his exams. ("A" levels for the English, high school diploma for Americans.) . When he returned he became the studio's bass guitarist and play in many albums that were made in the Caribbean at that time.

During the same period he often appeared on stage with Jazz-Funk groups, such as the group Quartz formed by the pianist Claude St Prix and the famous saxophonist from the Island St Lucie, Luther François, and made his name as composer and producer when he took part in productions of Georges Debs (producer of Kassav) who decided to give him his chance.
Autodidact, he soon, thanks to all these opportunities and experiences, progressed in particular through his work with other bass guitarists on their album. Two really gifted bass guitarists really helped him : Marcus Miller and Michel Alibo. Michel Alibo persuaded him to return to Paris.
In 1990...
at the age of 24, Chyco settled in Paris and composed for artists like Tatiana Miath (Komeraj, Zouking girl, and Surpriz party) Tony Chasseur (Fanm muzik, ...) etc ...
In 1991...
he met the singer Serge Ponsar who introduced him to the world of funk and R&B and in collaboration with Arnaud Aubaille, Romano Mussumara (Jeanne Mas, Celine Dion, Michael Bolton, Garou, Amii Stewart) and wrote too for the singer and pianist Carol Welsman. He also worked on remixes for Kassav, Guy, Sweetness and many others.
In 1996...
he founded the group Washa (Bijou, F Chellaoui, O Chakil and himself) and continued to compose for singers such as Ashanty, Hasheem, O Chakil, with songs like "Le chemin des anciens" or "Kiss me tonight" for G-Squad . He also worked in the jazz scene for Mario Cannonge and others. He performed many concerts with his group, Washa, and recorded the single "Tants de combats" (So many battles).
In 2004... "Finally", the first Chyco's album, is out, mainly influenced by Caribbean jazz hip-hop music with featurings like Marcus Miller, Tony Chasseur, Hasheem, Bijou, etc ... He is also performing on many different stages (Baisé salé, La Chapelle des lombards, New Morning ...) and composing new titles for various other albums.
In 2006 "Roots Mwen", his second album is out. This cd shows more the Chyco's caribbean roots still in the jazz funk world. Marcus Miller, himself, wrote a comment in "Roots Mwen" to confirm how this album is very personal, showing the Chyco's world...
