London’s DJ and songstress, Chyna Whyne is exploding the British music scene with her independently released debut single “Sexy Baal-ed” featuring the “Energy God” himself, Elephant Man. Chyna was recently in Jamaica filming the video for the pulsating title off her upcoming album of the same name.
Whilst Sexy Baal-ed celebrates the strength and beauty of today’s natural woman it joins the movement of music genre fusion. Chyna’s smooth vocals define the new dancehall derivative raggaton, a unique sound which fuses hip-hop, rnb and reggae along with Elephant’s usual energy and distinctive acoustics.
The very young Chyna served her apprenticeship touring and recording with Eric Clapton, Peter Gabriel, The Who, Bob Dylan and Seal to name but a few.
The upcoming album pushes boundaries by delicately mixing African, Jazz and Reggae rhythms; complemented by the vocals of this sexy, bald headed beauty.
New Age Woman, a modern dub number the third track on the album, is a testament to today’s woman by confidently defining who she is and what she wants. With the track Sexy Baal-ed single release off the album getting heavy rotation on Capital Radio’s Choice Fm, and BBC Radio One; along with many underground pirate radio station such as riddim busta.com, Playvybz, Galaxy, Gap, Vibes and Power Jam. The public are passionately demanding the international release.
Chyna Whyne is spearheading today’s new breed of reggae music, raggaeton.
