CIA was co-founded by Frank Jacobs and Bob Mumie in 1985. They felt a need to be more than just Christian entertainment and along with booking their earlier gigs in churches and coffeehouses they soon started taking the band into the nightclubs and secular venues.
While never signing with a label the band enjoyed success as a club/concert band. We acheived runner up status in a WMMR 93.3 Philadelphia indie music contest and played places like the Chestnut Caberet while taping a TV show called Music Express.
Concerts were high tech with tons of lights, smoke and couple of lasers! In the end the ultimate goal was to reach those who would not grace the doorway of a church on Sunday morning. This was the ultimate success. |
