I'm a self-employed person who does a few things: I'm a spiritual wellness trainer, a fitness trainer, an author, a public speaker, an artist and jewelry designer. It's a lot of hats, but don't worry... I have the head that comes with each one - I never throw anything away ;).
I'm a tiny woman with a bird appetite and big ideas. I'm in my 40's and having the time of my life. I've been married twice and divorced twice. I won't be doing the marriage thing again - not out of any childish petulance, but because I've lived both ways and I'm happier being unmarried. I've never wanted to be June Fucking Cleaver ever.
I know what I want and what I don't want. I'm wildly and stubbornly independent. I'm very thoughtful in the way I live my life. I have good reasons for the things I do, the things I believe, and the things I want. I can be very straightforward at times, but mostly I'm too polite to really ruffle anyone's feathers. This is not to mean that I'm a mouse about things. I'm not mousy at all, but I do my best not to hurt anyone's feelings unnecessarily.
My brother thinks of me as La Mujer de Los Lobos because I have always been surrounded by dogs and have a cooperative relationship with them. I dig the kitties too, but can't imagine my life without at least one dog in it and generally... the more the merrier. I like at least two, find it more fun with 3, and have had as many as 5 at a time. I take care of them and they take care of me... with no bickering or whining. I've never even had a marriage that good ;)
These are a few of my favorite quotes...
"Every form of happiness is private. Our greatest moments are personal, self-motivated, not to be touched."
--Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead
"Ten years ago.....
I turned my face for a moment
and it became my life.
Sometimes I go about pitying myself,
and all along my soul is being blown
by great winds across the sky."
--Ojibway saying
"And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."
--Anais Nin
"You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait. Do not even wait, be quite still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice. It will roll in ecstasy at your feet."
--Franz Kafka (1883 ~ 1924)
"The cave you fear to enter contains the treasure you seek." --Joseph Campbell (1904-1987)
A CHEROKEE LEGEND
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.
"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego." He continued, "The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."
