Sad and Good. Had a friends funeral on Monday that I had to go back to DC for. Decided to stay to bring in the New Year. Spent the evening with the same friends who were at the funeral. People that I had gone to high school with. We had a good time. It is amazing that we still keep in touch. I will be dancing at the All Seasons Hafla next sunday. I have not picked out music or a coustume or anything. Was too busy. Need to get my act together, but that never happens. I always end up just picking out a song the day of the performance. I gave up cheorgraphy a long time ago to match with my disconnected personality.
Yeah, we are going to be there tonight from 8-10. You should come and get a feel for it. It's located in Milford. Which, is in between Georgetown and Dover.

This was the show that I made that 2nd trip to D.C. for. These were the comedy routines. The other ladies did Beledi. Yasmin's student recital December 2008 Washington DC. This semester's assignment was tasteful burlesque comedy. A good performer should know how to make her audience laugh.
Hey...if your interested Smith & Company in Milford, Delaware has local dancers perform every other Saturday. The next performance is set for January 3rd if your interested. We always have a great time!
Next Sunday is the Drum Circle at Lewes. Afterwards we are meeting at Irish Eyes Resturant down the street. We are hoping that they will let us meet there in the colder months. Maybe making it into a mini halfla where dancers can strut thier stuff. Wish us luck.
If you have an itch to go to the beach. They hold drum circles at Lewes beach. Starting June 8th. And if you are so inclined and are in the area I am going to do Roman Havasi at my class that day.
Last March Damali put on a production of Scherezade at the Milton theatre. We had alot of guess dancers from New Jersey and one dancer drove two hours from Maryland to participate. Next year we are going to put on another production based on the story of Ruth. But this time since it is going to be more strongly story based, Nefertiti wants local dancers. She is going to be holding auditions sometime after her trip to Eygpt. You should consider trying out. It would be alot of hard work since basically you would be a character in a play. But I feel it is an important step for the bellydance comunity in this Delaware area, to get a appreciation for our artform locally.
