   About Sleeman Cicada Fest
Live music rules!

Cicada Fest – Bringing some of the best music from across Canada, Texas and Southern Ontario for the only three day music event of its kind in the Niagara Region.

Thom Lepp and Roger Marin present SLEEMAN CICADA FEST 2008 at Club La Salle Beach Camp, along the peaceful shores of Lake Ontario, July 4, 5, 6.

Roots, blues, bluegrass, newgrass, idie, folk, folk rock, country rock, singer songwriter, acoustic soul, americana –CICADA FEST is dedicated to showcasing Regional, National and International musicians in a family friendly lakeside setting at Club La Salle Beach Camp, St Catharines, Ontario.

The Valley main stage will feature 2008 host performer from Niagara Falls, the Roger Marin Band; special weekend guest performances from Texans, Mark Jungers and the Whistling Mules and Adam Carroll; Winnipeg’s Scott Nolan with Johanna Miller; from British Columbia, Indio Saravanja and from Toronto, Alun Piggins and the Quitters.

The festival founders are committed to bringing together artists from the region with touring artists and songwriters of exceptional caliber to create a dynamic performance and workshop environment for live music fans.

Rounding out this outstanding presentation are Port Dover’s Dan Walsh with Brock Zeman, Texan Joe Gee, The Done Me Wrongs, Mike Branton Band, Jesse T. Reid, Scott Normandy, Joe Lapinski Band, Marty Allen Band, Mike Lynch, Barnhouse Static, Erik Von Erik and the Raving Psychos, Anti-Q’s, Peace River, Don Couchie and the Spirit of Bluegrass and a special reunion appearance of local favorite Blackberry Blossom.

Having outgrown the home site on the banks of the 12 Mile Creek in Port Dalhousie, CICADA FEST has moved to its’ new lakeside location at the cozy Club La Salle Beach Camp after one year at the Serbian Picnic Grounds in Niagara Falls.

The event has been priced extremely inexpensively to make it accessible to as many people as possible. Advance tickets, at $12 per day or $30 for three days will be on sale online or by phone through Ticket Web at www.cicada.ca May 20.

SPAMED! Can you ever forgive me? If so, please vote for me! I am in Round Two of The TRCoA Unsigned Artist Competition. Help me get to Round Three by clicking my face and voting for me! If I’m in the top 4 I get to play a showcase for record executives and could win 100 free hours in the studio. If I were selected, it would really help me rock some faces off, please take a second and vote. Thanks! -Ted Hadji

Hey Cicada Fest... I have not heard about you before... it's too late for this year, but I would be interested in playing the gig next year... sounds like fun, drop me a note and we can talk about it once you get through this year's fest!
