Blurbs

About me:

I was born in Panama City, Panama. I grew up in Delaware, Puerto Rico and Florida. My daughter lives in St. Petersburg, and my parents are in Tampa, where I grew up. My sister (younger) lives in a small rural town NW of me. I've got a sweet little cat named Felix and a small group of close friends in Gainesville who I am very devoted to. The little things in life are what make me happy.

I despise:
Users, cheaters, hypocrites, revisionists, manipulators, liars, contrarians, entitlists, histrionicists, sensualists, egoists, egotists, gossipers, idolaters, proselytes, reactionaries, misanthropes, Satanists, self-serving business-types, nationalists, racists, people who do not respect other people's intellectual property, self-centered opportunists, free spirits, lazy people, and all other negative personalities.

Favorite quotes:
"In Germany, the Nazis first came for the communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, but I didn't speak up because I was a protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak for me."
- Reverend Martin Niemoeller

"Here's to swimmin' with bow-legged women!"
- Quint (aka actor Robert Shaw) from the movie, "Jaws"

"Anyone who doesn't take truth seriously in small matters cannot be trusted in large ones either."
- Albert Einstein

"I believe all Americans, no matter their race, no matter their sex, no matter their sexual orientation, should have that same freedom to marry. Government has no business imposing some people's religious beliefs over others. Especially if it denies people's civil rights."
- Mildred Loving (June 12, 2007)

"When will politicians realize that George Orwell's 1984 was a warning, not an instruction manual?"
- Derek Clark

"People who are not very bright close their minds to new information. Sometimes perhaps out of loyalty to opinions they've held for a long time. But the real loyalty we owe is to truth."
- unknown

"How is eating a whale different from eating pigs or cows?"
- Keiji Fujino

"When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a communist."
- Dom Helder Camara

"What is it that makes you vote against your own principal interests over and over again?"
- Randi Rhodes

"The angrier, more agitated, more irritated and more depressed I get... the more productive I get!"
- Hal McGee

"A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier, there's no question about it."
- President George W. Bush

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
- John Stuart Mill

"Our confusion is their power."
- Lenny Pearlman

"You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life."
- Winston Churchill

"Naturally, the common people don't want war, but they can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. Tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and endangering the country. It works the same in every country."
- Herman Goering

"This is the first time we've used a tactical missle to engage a spacecraft."
- General James Cartwright (February 18, 2008)

"Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer."
- General Sun-tzu

"You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life."
- Albert Camus

"Life's what you make it."
- Talk Talk
