Ciccone (pronounced chick-oh-knee) were the original kings of DIY. Ciccone died on the 13th June 2007 at the Astoria, London Town (see blog for goodbye message)
The band's songwriters Rebekah and Micky have a new band with a new line-up and direction. Message them through here to see and hear it.
ABOUT: They were single of the week on Radio 1 (Lamacq, Peel, Moyles), a high-rotation playlisting on XFM and had their no-budget videos played on MTV, MTV2 and Kerrang TV.
Outside the UK, their far-reaching fan base gave them radio play in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy (national press), Germany, Greece, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and the US. They were even on a kids show in Canada. They toured Italy, Spain and France and played 3 dates in New York. And they are still being played on US TV Show 'Life With Derek'.
Ciccone released their debut album in September 2004. 'Eversholt Street' was recorded / produced by them in their bedroom and is unashamedly British. Honestly pure and spirited, 'Eversholt Street' is stark, sussed and direct. It had loving album reviews in The Fly, Rocksound, Kerrang, Music Week, TNT, The Times, What's On and Guitar Magazine.
The Fly: "More bands need this much heart.." "...Tonight the passion pours off the stage".
Soundsxp.com: "In Rebekah Delgado, they possess a 24-carat goddess of infectious vocal melody and have-your-eye-out lyrical phrasing".
The Revolution Cornerstore: "On 'If Friday Falls Through', Micky Strickson sings 'if you need someone to share your take-away, I have the appetite of a horse' - when did anyone else write a love lyric as original, as witty, and as damn good as that?".
NME Yearbook:
"Ciccone have released loads of really good music but no one's been paying them attention because they've been releasing them on proper little indie labels. They've got the best pop songs, it would be a shame if they went on forever without making it"

Mama Shamone – THESE GUYS AREN’T PLAYING LIVE (except one acoustic) EXCEPT AT GLASTO FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR! http://www. myspace. com/mamashamone “Put Mama Shamone on at any venue and they are likely to take the roof off, this was one of the best live shows I’ve seen in years - certainly one of the best in London. In my opinion these guys are destined for greatness, it felt like I was witnessing history being shaped-something was just so right about what they were doing up there.” Vibe Bar
We Yes You No www. myspace. com/weyesyouno “We Yes You No sing about the end of the world, the end of everything. But in an apocalypse that would sound like this I would buy god’s last EP” – Big City Redneck
Language http://www. myspace. com/languageuk “"The verbosity of funk, the poetic twang of intelligent pop. The bridge between Franz Ferdinand and Smashing Pumpkins perhaps" – Bugbear

It is sad to hear that you are splitting up and I will make sure I go to your final gig. I've seen you once before when a little known band called The Pipettes happened to be the last band on.
Also you sent me a copy of the album when the three different copies I brought didn't work which was a very kind gesture and one I was really pleased about as I really wanted the album.
Hope your new band is a success.
