Çim Çiarü are a rock n' roll three piece power trio, with matching jackets.

It's been an exciting year and a bit for Cim Ciaru, we got started as a band some time between Christmas and Boxing Day the year before last and played our first show a couple of days into 2009. Since then we've been winning over hearts and minds with our well crafted songs, technical skill, quirky stage antics and our vast and varied repertoire of songs.

"The curiously named Çim Ciarü were up second and the three piece ripped into an up-tempo garage punk/pop number to kick off. Suffusing a number of styles into the mix their set was punctuated with some scorching slow blues jams which were guitarist/vocalist Tristram's forte. The jangly tone of the hollow bodied guitar and some artful soloing coupled with a solid rhythm section made for an engaging set."

"I ventured into fresh air and encountered Çim Çiarü on the outdoor stage. With bassist and guitarist disguised as virtual plumbers Mario and Luigi respectively and the drummer some form of pirate-cowboyspaceman-manbeast, they offered a curious sound hinting at stoner rock, blues, experimental indie and more without ever quite making sense, which was nice. One of the night’s more surreal moments came when the jumpsuit clad skinsman came to the stage’s fore and danced like a wounded monkey to the distorted tune of ‘Row Row Row Your Boat,’ ending up a convulsing mass on the ground (hope he’s okay)."

Cim Ciaru were one of the more interesting bands to tread the Swan’s planks that night, playing a mélange of rock, punk and blues in matching blazers. Corbett’s raw, inexact vocal style suits the traditional old school, big balls blues they play. They’re at their best in their more toe-tapping rockabilly numbers, the undeniable rhythm making it easy to imagine getting down to them on the dance floor; had there been one.

Sounds Like:

Our sound, a sound we like to call “Full Spectrum Rock and Roll”, draws influence from a wide range of musical styles, centering them upon a solid base of Rock And Roll. The music we play sits comfortably between 60's/70's Rock and 90's alternative with The Beatles, Frank Zappa, Cream, Soundgarden and You Am I as some of our main influences.
