Born in Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn, NY on February 21, 1972, third child, first girl out of 4 children. I developed an early appreciation for music from my parents. Growing up, there was always Jazz Music being played on the record player or the reel to reel in the living room. My parents always encouraged and nurtured creativity. At age 4, my family of six moved from Crown Heights Brooklyn, NY to Roosevelt Long Island, NY. At age 5, I began Piano Lessons and by the time I was eleven, my family moved to Lefrak City, Corona Queens, NY, & I was learning the clarinet, flute and percussion. In 1988 I moved back to Brooklyn with my Aunt and attended Midwood High School were I began playing the Stand Up Bass in the Orchestra. After Graduating in 1990. I moved to Amherst, MA to attend The University of Massachusetts. While attending UMASS, I was fortunate to study with Archie Shepp, Jazz Saxsophonist and Dr. Horace Boyer, Jazz Vocalist. I currently live in Florence, MA and work in Amherst @ a small private college and Sing in a local Reggae Band, The Equalites, visit our websight, www.equalites.com
