CINCINNATI ELITE are from annapolis, maryland, and have been playing/recording since 1998. we have traversed the states of maryland, massachusetts and illinois. originally an acoustic singer/songwriter troupe with little respect for harmony and a dangerous penchant for sad waltzes, we now write overly complicated songs concerning art, revolution and hedonism. beware the messianic tinge and moralistic tone.

I've never really heard the "Americana" aspect of your musick before. (Perhaps I should have been attending more to the lyrikal or thematic weight of your material than to the sonic tapestries?) But, after considering your tacklings of such issues as celebrity and excess, I have arrived at the conclusion that you are, in fact, Americana: The NEW AMERICANA.
How's about considering "Glam/Americana" as a more fitting sound listing?
how's it going... it's going goooood. how bout you. in my mind you are constantly pouting whiskey into a soda can... i want to come to chicago. maybe in june?? will you be there? are you a doctor yet?
Well, I thank you for that very kind compliment. I'm finishing up my third of the EP tomight (hopefully). Either way, it'll be ready to roll (and rock) on 5/5.
I have been sniffing around the Krestovsky compound and have caught wind of the following information: Krestovsky plans to add some tuneage to the split. It will be a menage a trois.
(I am also pissing blood as no one thought to include a SMOKE DAWG like me on this compilation. What's the matter? Are y'all afraid I'd burn y'all down?)
not that your playing isn't fantastic, but we think it (your music) could be bolstered if you get Van Dyke Parks to arrange it for the orchestra, and then have john paul jones play some guest bass.
not quite, i'm saying as soon as indie became suitable to market to teens it went ghettoward. they also became adept at their instrument and, like most white music with passion, the musicians turn to the blues for lack of their real previously palpable inspiration. some of them turned to generic folk though, others to generic funk. none survived with real art. at least death cab still puts out records that still sound like themselves. it think they are the last ones standing. i'm only speaking for the indie-pop style here however, ie: not the kind of indie that has been reclaimed by thurston moore on his ecstatic peace label in recent history.
surely our obscured lyrics are all about misogyny, but my mention of cat's power was just a typical indie-rock style name-drop. it's part of the game. the indie ghetto obviously was not self-sustaining enough to hold back the emotive phoenix created by hearing built to spill's "perfect from now on."
indie rock's positive period was only ephemeral, i have no stock in it any longer. my claims to influence the musical heritage are buried into other transcendentally transgressive projects now. it is too hard to emulate a major label death cab for cutie and a washed up silver jews. and animal collective went limp as a bill callahan postcat power coitus.
You have new songs and I have nothing in the mail--NOTHING! Oh, you don't have my new address...that's it...there must be an Elite CD sitting lonely in my old mailbox. *Sniff* I'll send you my new one.
