About me:


I opened Cinderella's Attic in 1979 after being influenced by cool glitter rock and artsy bands. Unique glamorous clothes made the bands as well as fans look very exciting, so I thought I'd help wardrobe the Detroit fashion scenesters. I'd hunt down those ultra cool stage clothes to be worn by everyone. Soon after I opened, I had such notable customers as The Clash, B-52's, Eurythmics, Lords of the New Church, Brian Adams, Joe Jackson, Diana Ross, Stray Cats, The Cult, The Romantics, Blondie, Weezer, Black Crowes, Smash Mouth, Kid Rock, Eminem, Bjork, The Go-Gos, Bush, Smashing Pumpkins, Nick Cave, Sponge, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. I also costumed numerous movie and Broadway productions, such as "Rent", Oliver Stone's "Zebrahead", Kid Rock's "I Am The Bullgod" video, Danny Davito's "Hoffa", Marcy Lynnís "Murder Too Sweet", and numerous others.

Our fashions have been featured on CNN, The Weather Channel, Splice magazine, Details, Playboy, People magazine, Time Out, Seventeen magazine, and in numerous local newspapers and magazines. We did a two hour special on the channel four news, to mark the premiere of "That 70's Show". Our credits roll on, too numerous to mention.
Cinderella's Attic houses quality and UNIQUE vintage clothing for everyone. From Austin Powers parties, to high school productions of "Grease". But we especially like to outfit high fashion seekers that realize that the designers of today borrow from the designs of yesterday. All the flower power 60's and 70's clothes are what ís being featured in high fashion retail stores at 50x the price I charge.
Cinderella's Attic won "Best Vintage Clothing Store" by Monthly Detroit Magazine, and the Metro Times every year, for the last 20 years! This spring, the Detroit Free Press awarded us "The best place to buy vintage polyester." We've had our land store for 22 years, and want to expand to everyone that likes cool, unique fashions, and uses fashion as art...
