Allmusic.com conversation about "Violet Stars Happy Hunting!"
There was an interesting conversation/article that can be found this week on the allmusic.com homepage the link to the full conversation is here.

This was pointed out to me by one of my myspace friends (you know who you are) and I thought that the coversation was interesting. Feel free to discuss. Anyway, while you guys think on the fate of the song, I'll keep writing more.
By the way, I'm trying to figure out a clever way to discuss the ideas put forth in VSHH because as someone noted in the conversation, the ideas are pretty layered. The closest thing I could come up with so far is an essay contest though. We'll see.
Happy Hunting!
Sincerely,
Jane.

3. Post your comment about "Violet Stars Happy Hunting!" on the page or just say “hi.” I’m a really nice girl, just like Tom. :)

I'm going to start doing something different on my page.
My most precious goal that I strive to achieve every day is to be able to inspire other people through my music.
When others are inspired, and they write in, sometimes the comments only stay up a few hours and they're gone. But some comments should stay up for longer than that I feel.
So, from now on, I will take certain comments that are written to me, and I will paste them in this area for others to look at. Not only do these comments inspire me, but it also makes the person posting it feel good, even if just for a little while.:-)
I'm going to go ahead and say that I won't use your name unless you give me permission, but I want people to know what I work for every day and how it pays off for me.
So here they are (I just have one now, but I'll continue to add as time goes on):
"Hi Ms. Monae,
I'm just saying hi checking in on u. i listen 2 letting go every morning until my parents tell me 2 listen 2 something else (im 16) u r a great role model just hope that i can be that successful with my own music to send out messages just like u love ya!!!"
Morgan (soulexact of 2write4)
"Every time I get off track with my music and business, I can always come to your page and know that your going to inspire me back into shape! Love the blog page, about to watch the channel 5 spot now... do what you do... and London, yeah! They'll love you! I would totally roll with Wonderland before I ever would sign a deal! Let me know when you guys are looking for a ghetto rocker! Keep it up! You are a light!"
"Janelle Monae,
Wow I really do not know what to say, over these couple of days I have become so in love with you and your music mane. Like almost everyday I listen to VSHH! Your whole style is kool and your voice is amazing. I see soo much success for you in the future. Keep up the good work and I cant wait for your next single. I hope I hear back from you or atleast be put in your comments that make you happy because Im a good fan!!! Have a happy hunting day, lol!! My name is brandon by the way!"
Jane,
Your image, your music, your voice, and your energy have inspired me to continue the search of finding myself. It is so easy to give in to the expectations of our society, of our worlds, but I know that I am different, and you have shown that it is great to be different. I am going to disregard the pressures of how everyone wants me to be and the expectations of how my music and image should be and just be me. I am going to do what I feel in my soul and if that makes me different or the same, or red or blue, or Whatever.... Im going to do it because it is right for me.
"
"hey miss janelle monae,

"God Bless Janelle, It's really something that you decided to do this with the comments and everything because I was just thinking that I wanted to send you a comment about your song "Lettin' Go", i have been going through a lot of different things and I know that I will come out of them but sometimes you need a boost while you're going through ya know? Everytime I listen to "Lettin Go", it just makes me feel so good!!! I know it's one of your older songs but it's a very good song!! I will definately be buying your new CD. Keep Being you!! We really need people like you who are so uplifting. I hope I didn't ramble too much, and you can use my name if you like. God Bless. Theresa Battles-Burton"
"It has been a minute since I have played a record this much. Growing up in the business we got hundreds of demos a week and almost every one of them was just okay for a few reasons that you have managed to gracefully avoid. This record has a great variety of melodies and the captivating vocal arrangement is top notch, not to mention having a theme, which so many artists have a problem with confusing with a gimmick. But nothing can hide raw talent, and not much can help it either, your unbelievable production just helps people take notice. I will personally be purchasing a capella, in addition to whatever else you’ll sell me to listen to. Anyway, this is all the tooting of your horn I am going to do today ;-). Keep up the extraordinary work."
"Please believe that "Violet Stars Happy Hunting" is on my page!!! I've morphed into ur biggest fan Janelle Monáe...I love you!!! If u comment back I'll probably pass out at my computer desk...make a young teens dream come true...HOLLA!!!"
Hey what's up my name is Reggie and I'm from Wyandotte county. I was checking out your page and noticed someone hating on you from kck. I don't normally do things like this but I felt I had show some support and encourage you. Just wanted to let you know that you do have people in kck that support you and your dreams. I know I am proud to see someone from here pursue their dreams. You came a long way, I don't know you personally but I can remember you from schlagle high School. I think I was a Freshman when you were a Senior. I remember you were heavily involved in the performing arts in our school, you even still have the same sense of style you had when you were in school, so no one can call you fake. Keep doing what you do and god bless. Stay true to yourself.

This is a clear indication of why I strive to be free as I can when I perform.
Why I do my own hair and pick out my own clothes.
Why I express myself the way I do.
Why I strive not to play it safe, especially with my music.
Why I strive to not play by "the rules" or your rules for that matter.:-)
Why when you're trying to change lives and have influence, having commercial success is not really that important.
Why I exercise my rights.
Why I am not upset that you don't like the way I dress or my hair or the way I dance.:-)
Why I really don't care about you not believing in Janelle Monáe.
Why I smile more.
Why I can't and don't take my freedom for granted.
Why If I were you, I wouldn't either.
Why I focus so much on the future.
Why I can't understand why people are growing down in stead of growing up.
Why I get more mad at niggativity over negitivity (huge difference).
Why I care more about having influence than fame.
Why I try not to complain much.
Why I would prefer to be staying at Galileo Galilei's house over L.A. Reid's anytime.
Why I am not mad at the world, but pissed at people who want to stop progression from happening.
Why I can not support ignorance.
Why my mission is bigger than just music, you, and me.
Why black girls and girls in general should be able to run for president and win!
Why I smile more.
Why I kick down mic stands and do hurleys on stage AND TV.
Why I am an artist and will fight for my art and yours too, if I like it.:-)
Why I wear a black and white uniform and a pair of black and white saddle oxfords all the time.
Why I am not trying to be perfect, but remarkable.
Why there should be more Einstein's or someone better at this point in time.
Why I do not fear man or woman nor being a leader.
Why I have a made up mind.
This my friend, is just a clear indication of why Janelle Monáe WILL change the world and will slap you hard in the face if you even think about trying to stop her.
Jane.
