Cindy Lehmkuhle (lem-cool) has been writing songs most of her life. An intensely private person, it took a turning point in her life for her to make her songs public. In January 2006 she released her CD, Every Road, backed by an all-star cast of her musician-friends. The recording has led her to live performances, each one a unique reflection of the artist, each one a glimpse within. Whether performing solo, as a duo or backed by a full band, she combines the magic of friends making music with the power of unpretentious, real-life song-writing.
Cindys songs run the gamut from power pop to blues to heartfelt folk. Every song is an honest expression of the warmth and depth of her soul. No matter the genre, no matter the size of the band or of the venue, Cindy Lehmkuhle invites listeners to join her circle of friends. Most do.
I'll be debuting my new Quintet at the "Rendezvous on the Grand" tomorrow. I'll be playing harmonica and trumpet, along with Herb Scott on alto and soprano saxophones. The quintet also features Joshua E. Davis on drums, Noah Jackson on Bass, and Steve Frarey on guitar.
We'll be doing jazz standards, and backing up a few local vocalists.
The show is from 8:00-12:00, no cover. Please come out and support Jazz in Old Town Lansing!
Hiya Cindy, It was fun running into you last night--even if you didn't play for us, you bum! Thursday I'm gonna check out the new place on Michigan (Homegrown Music). Maybe see you there :)
I'm not sure about tonight, I work at home in the evenings and right now is crunch time in the knitting biz. I have SO much going on and we're going to be at Wheatland 3 days this weekend so I may have to do the nose to the grindstone tonight.
Have fun in any case. It's always great to see/hear you.
Cindy! Hey I never got a chance to tell you but I love your album! Nice work. I listen to it all the time. Hope you're well and SORRY that I didn't call when I was passing through Detroit... but... when the hell are we going to do some camping and hiking and guitar-by-the-fire nights? You and yours should come and visit Zion, dammit!
