Band MembersCindy Novelo - viola/fiddle/vocals/guitar. Sometimes I'm on my own, sometimes with others, among them, Kasey Rausch and Friends... always with me.
InfluencesThe moon, the stars and the prairie wind, the spirit within, the spirit without, love and life, the haunting musical sounds of Appalachia, the brilliance, purity and romance of classical, the deep-in-my-bones stirring of the blues, old Gospel tunes, Christine Kane, Joyce Anderson, Gillian Welch, Annie Gallup, Kris Delmhorst, The Carter Family, Jackson Browne, Luna and Leila and everyone I've ever loved
Sounds LikeSome say just me, but some say some things I do remind them of Dar Williams, Joan Baez, or Christine Kane when I sing, Eastern European or gypsy music when I play the fiddle.

   About Cindy Novelo
Contact: cindynovelo AT earthlink.net ***********************************************************************Cindy Novelo combines traditional and contemporary folk tunes with original pieces to mesmerize audiences on both her 5-string viola and the guitar. Attracted by the spirit of giving and receiving found in folk music, and the healing power of sharing it, several years ago Cindy chose to marry her classical training on the viola with her love for the haunting sounds of old-time fiddle and the freedom of songwriting. Her soulful playing and well-tuned ear have led to guest artist performances with a host of nationally and internationally acclaimed singer/songwriters, including David LaMotte, Eric Garrison, Bob Sinclair, Sam Anderson, Phyllis Tannerfrye, Scott Ainslie and Kasey Rausch. Cindy frequently performs solo, but also performs with Prairie Angel, a duo with Terri Laddusaw, and has just been asked to join Glenfinnan, a Celtic-oriented band based in Topeka, KS. ***********************************************************************Workshops: Cindy's years of performance experience, her passion for teaching and over eight years of healing and yoga study led Cindy to begin teaching courses in body awareness and relaxation two years ago. After designing a course specifically for musicians, she taught during Contemporary Folk Week at the Swannanoa Gathering in Asheville, NC, beginning in 2005, and will teach there again this year. During the past year, Cindy has taught courses and led workshops in the university setting and for professional gatherings, from audiences ranging from musicians to university students to individuals with disabilities. Cindy welcomes opportunities to work with individuals and/or conduct workshops in areas related to body awareness, healing, and performance preparation. **************************************************************** Reviews: Cindy, her music, and her presence envelope the earth like a warm wind - powerful, welcomed, refreshing, nurturing, and heartening. ~Singer/songwriter David Roth, June 2006 ***Cindy played her magical fiddle-ish, actually a little 5-string viola with a celestial and ancient tone she is a symphony ~Singer/songwriter Phyllis Tannerfrye, Myrtle Beach, SC, March 2006 ***The quality of everything about the recording [Phyllis Tannerfryes most recent cd Now and Then], including Cindys viola on 'angel' and 'footprints' is AMAZING! ~Singer/songwriter Herschel Brown, Feb. 2006 ***Cindy has a deep, enchanting talent that's a joy to hear. Her viola/fiddle range glides from soulfully moving to toe-tapping energizing. ~Joy Resor, August 2005

Greetings,

Thank you for joining our circle of friends. Welcome. - We, the humankind, should always keep in mind that, united we stand and prosper, but divided, we have been falling for many, many years. - Let us learn how to unite and work together, let us learn how to transform the information offered on our website, into action, in order to solve humanity’s major problems, One Problem, at a time. - Ranking number 1, on top of our list of major manmade problems obviously is the Global Warming.

We must also keep in mind that silence solves nothing, it never has, and it never will. Our silence will encourage more violence and corruption at all levels of society, all over the world, and helps to defeat and silence the peaceful ethical voices of reason and common sense. - It is our civic duty and moral obligation, to get involved and never be silent, to solve our many problems, by simply casting the light of truth and exposing the source of the problem, followed by enlightening educational measures to solve the problem through a peaceful conflict resolution.

There are only 2 ways of spreading the light of truth and hope, either to be the source of light, truth and hope, The Projector, or be The Mirror, that spreads and reflects the light of truth and hope to others, which one are you? - Next time you see the angelic smile of sweet little angels, our children, running around, stop and think for just 1 minute, think about what kind of a polluted Home, Planet Earth we are leaving behind for them.

Please visit The Tree Huggers of America’s website and learn about the free simple things we can all do at home, or office, right now, to ensure a sustainable green future for all of us, the humankind. - Global Warming is a threat to our species and we must reverse it before 2018, or face the end of us, the humanity.
