Grabar el disco en Finlandia, un poco lejos de Andalucía, tiene su historia cuyo argumento no es otro que el de mi propia vida. Si Huelva me da la cuna, Helsinki ilumina mi camino. Entre estas dos ciudades, tan aparentemente lejanas, yo me siento inmensamente agradecida por todo lo hermoso que ambas me aportan.

Nace en Huelva. Es en principio la raíz flamenca la base definitoria de su trabajo, pero esas raíces se enriquecen, tras sus intensas experiencias cantando junto a Piirpauke (grupo pionero de la Música del Mundo, con componentes europeos, africanos y asiáticos.) en más de 15 países: Finlandia, Suecia, Dinamarca, Polonia, Suiza, Rusia, Estados Unidos (1992, SXSW Music and Media Conference en Austin, Texas y SOB..S en nueva York), Estonia (Fiesta Festival en Tallin, 1994), Turquía (Estambul 1993), España (Barcelona, Plaza de la Catedral durante el Festival del BAM y la Fiesta de la Mercé, 1994), (Andalucía 1996, en Gran Teatro de Huelva yla Iglesia de la Merced en Sanlucar de Barrameda, Cádiz), Francia (Midem, Cannes en 1995), Portugal (Teatro Antiguo de Faro en 1996). Durante 1997 y 1998 trabajó principalmente en Finlandia, incluíada Laponia.
En 1999 tuvo una gira por Alemania, Austria y Checoslovaquia y numerosos conciertos en las escuelas finlandesas con el disco de canciones para niños "Laula Sinäkin" (Canta con nosotros).

En el 2000 actúa en el Teatro Museo de Chennai (Madras, India) y en el Festival de la danza de Mamallapuram, sur de India.

Continuamente trabaja al mismo tiempo en su proyecto de composición (letra y música).
Ha grabado siete discos con Piirpauke: Algazara 1987, Zerenade 1989, Tuku- Tuku 1991, Terra Nova 1993, Ave María 1996, Laula Sinäkin 1998 y Kalabalik 2006.
La casa Catalana Horus, editó una recopilación de los cuatro primeros bajo el nombre de Arbolé, Cinta Hermo y Piirpauke 1995, Nuevo Flamenco.
Ha hecho diversos programas de TV y radio nacionales e internacionales y otros proyectos musicales como el video Caracola, basado en una canción tradicional rumano-gitana con final de Ravel, cuyo título y letra son de Cinta.

Haber profundizado en el folklore de tan variadas músicas, componiendo letras en español adaptadas a las mismas, ha supuesto para Cinta no sólo el contacto directo y vivo con otras culturas, sino además y sobre todo, su propia evolución: "Cómo otros mundos son mirados y sentidos en el alma andaluza de una mujer y su guitarra".
Esta llave abre la puerta a un espacio más íntimo en el que la artista paralelamente va ahondando más aún en sus composiciones de la mano de esos valores universales.

Qué es "El Canto de la Sirena"? "Quizás -dice ella- la sirena no sea más que un símbolo, mitológico-marino en este caso. Todo lo relacionado con los misterios de la antiguedad me fascina, y el mar me emociona, me da paz y alegría, es como un todo de donde nace la vida.
El Canto, es un canto a la solidaridad por el encuentro de culturas y diversidad, en favor de un mundo más bello y más justo que apueste por la naturaleza y la paz de nuestro planeta".

Mencionar que Cinta ha recibido apoyo de La Dirección General de relaciones Culturales y Científicas del Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores de España, para su proyecto en el extranjero.
Ha sido becada también por el gobierno finlandés para su obra de composición y ha recibido varios premios radiofónicos. Radio Cope de Huelva la nombró artista revelación por su sevillanas "La noche de tormenta" y fue mejor solista por sus sevillanas "Sol y luna" en Radio Hispanidad de Huelva.

En la primavera 2007 hace una gira en Hungría junto al multiinstrumentalista finlandés Sakari Kukko y algunos excelentes músicos del Jazz Hungaro..............

Ese mismo año graba su primer album, "El Canto de la Sirena",que sale a la luz en febrero del 2008. En este trabajo hecho en Finlandia con brillantes músicos del folklore y jazz finlandés, (Markku Ounaskari, Samuli Mikkonen, Lasse Lindgren, Raúl Mannola, Sakari Kukko), nos deleita con una variada gama de colores, desde su hondo sentir más huelvano, plasmado en su “Saeta al Cristo”, “Fandangos de Andalucía”, “El Amor por Sevillanas”, hasta el particular viaje de sus poemas cantados, y otros atrevimientos como ella misma dice. Mención especial merece la improvisación a voz y piano sobre "Salvadoras", poema de Juan Ramón Jiménez. En “Hijos del Universo", canción finlandesa, Cinta ha recreado su propia poesía construida sobre la idea del título original "Kahden maan kansalainen" (Ciudadana de dos tierras). Con “Viene”, nos lleva por el dulce viaje de sus sueños.

Como respuesta a sus enriquecedoras aventuras musicales a través de casi una veintena de países, con el grupo étnico Piirpauke (Europa, África, Asia), con los que ha hecho 7 discos, nos entrega la auténtica visión de una búsqueda artística y personal, en la que se siente el respeto por lo tradicional y la fuerza de la propia creatividad, su alma pura y su valiente latido, recogidos con un sentido de la belleza digno de ser compartido.

Una de sus grandes experiencias la vive como solista de la Stadin Juhlaorkesteri. La ciudad de Helsinki la contrata para este encuentro multicultural, entre marzo del 2008 y enero del 2009, con más de 50 conciertos donde canta temas de su nuevo disco.

El proyecto adquiere otra dimensión, con la participación de Paco Fernández, de la Familia Fernández de Triana, Sevilla. Fantástico guitarrista gitano que ha tocado con Camarón, Niña Pastori, Rocío Jurado, etc. y tiene un disco de platino. A la batería y percusión, el finlandés Markku Ounaskari, muy apreciado en los círculos del Jazz Escandinavo y Europeo, que ha hecho varias graba-ciones con la ECM. En febrero del 2009, el trio hace algunos conciertos presentándose en Finlandia y España.

En Julio del 2009 Cinta da una conferencia-concierto en solitario,sobre Músicas del Mundo, para la Universidad Internacional de Andalucía, en la Ermita de la Trinidad de El Cerro de Andévalo,Huelva, haciendo un recorrido por toda su carrera .El 3 de agosto 2009, es invitada a hacer un concierto sola con su guitarra para Tarja Halonen, Presidenta de Finlandia, en su palacio de verano (Kultaranta).

She was born in Huelva (Andalucía), Spain. Because of her place of birth she has strong roots in famenco. These roots have grown and got richer during the experience of concerts with Piirpauke around the world: Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Austria, Russia, USA (1992 at Music and Media Conference in Austin and SOBY's in New York), Estonia (Fiesta Festival in Tallinn 1992), Turkey (Istanbul 1993), Spain (Barcelona at Plaza Cathedral during BAM Festival and annual Mercé Fiesta in 1994, performing for 5000 people, Andalucía in 1996 in the Big Theatre of Huelva, Church of Merced in Sanlucar de Barrameda, Cádiz), France (Midem, Cannes in 1995) and Portugal (The Old Theatre of Faro in 1996).During 1997-98 she has played a lot in Finland including Lapland. In April 1999 tour in Germany, Austria, Czech and lots of concerts for children in the Finnish schools with “Laula Sinäkin”.

Spanish lyrics to adapted songs have given Cinta direct contact to other cultures.
However, it also offers to the listener an authentic glimpse to the Andalucian soul of a woman and her guitar. After working with universal material the artist is now ready to go deeper into her own compositions and visions. The result is, a new project of her own, “El Canto de la Sirena”. What is “El Canto de la Sirena”?“La Sirena” is only a symbol as any other perhaps, she says. A mythological marine symbol in this case. I feel fascination for everything related to mysteries of ancient times. “El Canto” is a cry for solidarity at the encounter of cultures in favour of fair and beautiful world to protect the nature and peace of our planet.

Cinta Hermo has been souport by the foreign ministry of Spain and 2002 she got a Grant from Finland (Wihuri-rahasto) for composing.
She has been awarded twice for the best “sevillanas” in Huelva. Prize to the revelation artist from de COPE radio- “Noche de tormenta” (sevillanas de la barca)- and an other prize for the solo artist from radio HISPANIDAD (“Sol y luna”, sevillanas).
In 2006 she made her last album with Piirpauke (Kalabalik). March 2007 she did a tour in Hungary with the Finnish multiinstrumentaliste Sakari Kukko and some excelents musiciens of the Hungarien Jazz.

The same year she made her first solo album “El Canto de la Sirena” who has been out from January 2008.
In this work, produced in Finland with brilliant folklore and jazz Finnish musicians (Markku Ounaskari, Samuli Mikkonen, Lasse Lindgren, Raúl Mannola, Sakari Kukko), she delights us with a varied range of colors, from her deepest Huelvan feelings into” Saeta al Cristo”,” Fandangos de Andalucía”,”El Amor por Sevillanas”, etc., to the particular trip of her own poems, and others audacities, as she herself says. Special mention deserves “ Hijos del Universo” (Childrens of the Universe), a Finnish song, where Cinta has recreate her own poetry, builded around the same idea of the original title “Kahden maan kansalainen” (Citizen of two lands). With “Viene”, she takes us to the sweet travel of her dreams.

Her project receives new dimensions with the collaboration of Paco Fernández, from the Familia Fernández de Triana, Seville, Spain, a fantastic gypsy flamenco guitarist who has play with Camarón, Niña Pastori, Rocío Jurado, et., and has a platinum record, in addition to Markku Ounaskari, Finnish drummer very appreciated in the circles of the Scandinavian and European Jazz. He has several recordings with the ECM.
