Sounds Like
Nothing you ever heard before. Currently it's a live electronic backline, with vocals, bass, guitars, keyboards and percussion - but it could just as easily be a cocophony of all electronic noise, or all acoustic kit & hand percussion, punky, ska, drum'n'bass, or a funktastic carnival skankathon; depends on the show, and the tip we're on at the time.
Most people ask us what style we play. I suppose you could say Circadia are no different to any band really; just people getting on with it, with a few things to say. You have to listen really. You can pigeon-hole us then, if you will, but it won't make much difference.
We're a 6 piece band based in Birmingham, England. We have have seen many line-up changes over the years, the current one being probably the most musically diverse and dedicated to the cause. Of the current band, Claire has been in from the start, with probably Martin or Dave being the next longest serving chump, then Jon, then Ali and Barri.
We have just done a short run of gigs around Birmingham, with 2 for Subvert, 1 for Vege Pride in Viccy Square, and 1 superb finale for the month of May at Mr.Elephant's 2nd birthday, at the Hare and Hounds in da (Kings) Heath.
We're back off into the studio now for a bit, to get a demo together at Hockley St. Studios. At the time of writing, the electronics and percussion are down for Wind-up Box, so expect that one first. There's a rough demo available of the myspace player.
Also, we've got the wonderful Gary Tanner sizing up tunes and studios for a new video... We got him to do us a recording of our last gig using the band's handycam, which you can see at www.youtube.com/user/luvvit.
In the mean time, some video offerings, for your consumption: the first video was produced by the fantastic Rob @ Unsigned Music Video, filmed in back in April 2007.
