New bookings on hold, I'm relocating. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since the Mid 90's, I have recorded bands on the side as well as the bands I've played drums in since I was much younger. My earliest experiences has been with juggling 2 track recorders using a DJ mixer when I was a teenager. Then with 4 track, 8 track, and now 16 track over the years. Mostly within the mid nineties, I have recorded many local bands while I lived in Central Florida, including Reno Divorce, Song of Kerman, Bithlo Mullet Revival, The Romeros, and other underground Florida acts. After pursuing a carrier in 3d Animation, my audio recording has been limited to bands I played in, including The Malefactors, Suburban Lockdown, and Shockbox. I still managed to recored a few other bands on the side in between periods of employment. Right now, I am in one of those periods and I have a home studio setup here in Reno NV. What I have here is a small sample of the work I've done as a recording engineer over the years. The most recent recording, "No Good Trying" was recorded in my home studio in Nov, 2007. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Although I do have a basic hourly rate, I am open to negotiate deals depending on how much time is needed, and how the session is recorded (live, layered, ex) I will do what I can to work with you to come up with a fair deal based on your budget. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of my main strengths is getting a great drum sound. As a drummer myself, I've experimented with different mic types and I know how to tune a drum set to get the best possible sound from it. You are also welcome to use the drum gear I have. I have a refurbished 4 piece drum set with a 22inch bass drum and a 5 piece newer vintage style/tuned Ludwig set with a 26inch bass drum. My cymbal collection is a mix of Zildjian and Sabian brands which includes 16,18,20,21, and 22 crashes and crash rides, a 20in ping type ride and 14in hihats. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My mic collection consists of the following,
1 AKG C3000 large diaphragm condenser,
1 MXL 2001 large diaphragm condenser,
2 MXL V57M large diaphragm condensers,
1 AKG C1000 smal diaphragm condenser,

About the tracks posted.... ---------------------------------------------------
"Incel" Performed and recorded by myself in November 2007 at my home studio in Reno NV, Using the Ludwig drums and Peavey Rage 258 combo amp. This is an example of a layered recording where everything was recorded separately. With this technique one can get very clean sound but at the expense of using lots of time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Laid To Waste Demo" by Suburban Lockdown. Recorded by me around the summer of 2006. This was when I played drums in the band and we were recording self demos in our practice space. This is an example of a hybrid live/layered recording where the instruments was recorded live and the vocals were added latter. This recording technique is a good compromise of quality vrs time and is normally ideal for budget quality recordings. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"SweetHog" by the Casket Drivers. Recorded by me in the band's tiny practice space in Orlando Florida. This is an example of a live recording session with my gear. This is the most budget way to record, as it takes the least time to record and mixdown. But the disadvantage of this technique is lots of leakage and phase problems. But may be sought after if a raw live garage sound is wanted. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Limp Cock Man" by The Bithlo Mullet Revival. Recorded by me around 1997 (I think) An example of a different music style I recorded. This was recorded on an 8 track setup with the drums, bass, and 1 guitar track live, then the horns and vocals were added later. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks!
Oh yes, I'll include this. My session drumming can also be included for the recording session. So if you are just a single musition with ideals you want to record, or you're in a band with an unsatisfactory drummer, I can help with that too.
