Somehow I identify with her. Diana or Artemis turned Acteon into a stag for his own hounds to destroy, punishment for having seen her bathing naked. (LOL) I know, hard to believe I own a burlesque/circus company. If I could sum myself up in one word it would be contradiction. I believe the truth lies in paradox. Order lies in Chaos, and I am still trying to decide if god is a giant fractal or a clown. I prefer clown, at least I could laugh for all eternity. All I know for certain is that I know nothing. I don’t do drugs. I have tried them in the past, I’ve tried many things, yet nothing compares to the high I get from being on stage. It’s the only place I’ve ever felt a real connection. It ‘s in that space between the performer and the spectator that magic happens, love happens. I wish I could live there forever. Life is not perfect. But in art, at least there is an effort. To make you think, to disturb you, to allow you the opportunity to see things differently, if even for just a moment. Connect. Ask why. Art, true art isn’t always pretty, but it’s pure.
