Ciro Grieco, nasce a Sorrento (NA) il 17-5-60, bassista. Inizia la sua avventura nel '76 formando i "Salens", band partenopea: genere Rock. Dal '79 al '84 fa parte degli "Atropi". Dal '85 al '89 collabora con gli "Areton club" sia live che in registrazione. Tra il '90 e il '92 coopera in campo jazz-fusion con "La Fabbrica". Dal '93 al '96 fa parte del trio Gargiulo-Grieco-Pace sempre nella jazz-fusion. Nel '97 approda nel blues facendo parte del gruppo campano dei "Lemon Leaf" con Cicci Bellarosa alla chitarra ed il grande Michele Stinga col quale allaccia un rapporto sia dal punto di vista musicale che umano, poi "Gloomily" con Francesco Nunziato alla chitarra e voce, Gianfranco Federico chitarra solista e Floro Pappalardo alla batteria. Poi a seguire "Traccia Blues" con Sandro Coppola alla chitarra solista, Francesco Nunziato Chitarra e voce e Fabio Malfi alla batteria, fino al 2001, nello stesso anno la band riscontra un ottimo consenso di pubblico suonando nei vari club d'Italia ed affermandosi tra le migliori Blues Band Italiane. Ha collaborato negli ultimi anni con gli "Indiskreto", gruppo funky-blues con Umberto Robert Illiano alla voce, Luigi Ambruoso alla chitarra, Pierluigi Parlato alla batteria e "Julian Oliver Mazzariello" al piano e tastiere. Da ottobre 2001 fa parte della "Tropp' blues band" di Napoli con Francesco Lampitelli al sax e voce, Cicci Bellarosa alla chitarra e Mike Stinga alla batteria suonando in vari club partenopei ed inserendosi in diverse occasioni nell'Orchestra della Nato. Da Aprile 2002 collabora con il cantautore "Pietro de Cristofaro" nel suo tour italiano 2002, con dirette televisive a: Match Music, MTV e Viva, ed anche radiofoniche a Radio Popolare di Milano e Blusat2000 Roma, ed in registrazione. Da ottobre 2003 suona con i Soulplayers, con Nicola Caso alla chitarra e voce, Cicci Bellarosa lead guitar e il grande Mike Stinga alla batteria, sia live che in registrazione. A Maggio 2004 viene convocato a fare parte della Big Street Band tra i quali il batterista Bruno Morvillo ed il chitarrista Paolo Propoli. A luglio 2004 collabora con Officina Blues con il chitarrista Enzo Grieco, il batterista Mariano Di Guida, il sassofonista Lucio Cartelli,il singer Tony Staiano ed il trombettista Antonio Astarita, fino a settembre 2007. A settembre 2006 collabora con "Jerry Silverman", cantante e compositore Newyorkese di Blues and Folk. A settembre 2007 è parte integrante del progetto "Neapolitan Hard Pop" di Nicola Caso assieme a: Sandro Coppola - guitar; e Sabatino Romano alla batteria. A Febbraio 2008 collabora con la chitarrista americana Catherine Delgadillo (Eric Clapton) e la batterista londinese Rebecca Kitchener al brano "Bex". Ad aprile 2009 fa parte della Band campana "The Blue Brunch" con Umberto Robert Illiano alla voce, Gigi Ambruoso alla chitarra e Agostino Izzo alla batteria. A gennaio 2011 forma,assieme ad Ago Izzo: Batteria; Roxy De Martino: voce; Nino Milordo: tastiere e Max Lubelli: chitarra...gli XDREAMS. Ha suonato con batteristi dal calibro di Gennaro Barba (Osanna), - Fabio Cervera (Registrazione pezzo dedicato a Michele "to a friend, never forget!") – Pino Liberti (Carvin Jones,Andrea Braido Band) - Giovanni Vescera (the wolkingtime Jazz quartet) – Roberto Zincone (recording con EMINEM, Ricky Martin, Celin Dion) – Fabio Malfi (A.Pappalardo) – Sabatino Romano (Pino Daniele, Tullio de Piscopo, Eugenio Bennato) – Michele "Locomotive"Stinga, Sasà Riemma (Gigi Finizio). ***************************************************** ***************************************************** ***************************************************** English version: Ciro Grieco, bassplayer, was born in Sorrento (Naples –Italy) on the 17th of May 1960. He starts his music adventure in 1976 by creating a rock band called the "Salens". From 1979 to 1984 he plays with another group, the "Atropi". From 1985 to 1989 he starts playing live and recording with the "Areton club" band . Between 1990 and 1992 collaborates with "La Fabbrica" jazz-fusion band. From 1993 to 1996 he is part of the trio band Gargiulo-Grieco-Pace always playing jazz fusion sounds. In 1997 he comes to the Blues, becoming part of the Campania region group called "Lemon Leaf" then "Gloomily" and "Traccia di Blues" up to 2001. In these last years has worked with bands such as the "Indiskreto" funky-blues band, and "Julian Oliver M.". From the October 2001 he plays together with the "Tropp'blues band"of Naples. From the April 2002 he collaborates with the songwriter and singer "Pietro de Cristofaro" in his italian tour of the year 2002, performing live and recording, in TV broadcastings on Match Music, MTV and Viva channels, on radio broadcastings on Milan Radio Popolare, Blusat2000 Rome. From the October 2003 Ciro Grieco is part of the "Soulplayers" blues-band, playing and recording with them. On May 2004 he is asked to be part of the Big Street Band. On July he plays with the Officina Blues till September 2007. On September 2006 works together with "Jerry Silverman" a New York Blues and Folk singer and songwriter. On September 2007 he is integral part of Nicola Caso's project "Neapolitan Hard Pop" together with: Sandro Coppola – guitar, and Sabatino Romano – drums.
