As soon as I got my first computer in the spring 2003, I started making music with Acid 1.0, rather simple digital audio workstation. Around those times, I had an artist name called Eerick. It's a mixture of my first name Patrick, and a nick name Eerik that my friend gave to me in elementary school. I made hundreds of songs back then (house, electro, downtempo, bitpop... you name it) with it and today I still consider some of them being at least satisfying to me. I played guitar for a couple of years but quit in 2006.
During spring 2005, I got a new PC and collided with FL Studio. I learned to use it properly in no time. For the first time I heard about French house duo Daft Punk. Managed to buy two of their albums, Homework and Discovery. Daft Punk heavily influenced me. One major idol for me is also Fu-Tourist, a Finnish house artist, though I got influences from dozens of artists and bands, like most of musicians do... I kept making house and electro, with a taste of other genres.
In 2006 I changed my artist name to Blaze. Originally it was one of my tracks name. Since then I created songs that gathered me more fame (if it can be called that way). I learned to make more complex and beautiful melodies.
Summer 2007: the project was/is now known as Cirrus973. Still considered making house/dance, untill I got interested in my dreams in 2008: they were surreal but beautiful and I wanted to express them musically. Soon I heard about an artistic movement surrealism, invented by André Breton. Today I like Salvador Dalí's art more.
Anyway, I started experimenting. Because my dreams often consisted of short events and their content kept changing fast, and they were irrational, odd and surreal, my way to express it was to make melodies like they were made of separate clips, but I still wanted to keep the common thread in their harmonies. I was making avantgarde. About that time, dubstep also influenced me a bit.
February to end of June 2008; On-the-job training as a radio broadcaster and studio worker.
September 2008; I moved to my own apartment and bought a new laptop which I still continue to make music with.
Although I heavily kept doing avantgarde, I didn't stop making dance music. Today I do both and everything I wish to do, but I never, and never did, actually decide what kind of music I am about to make. I just let it go and flow, just expressing myself.
