**************
Cities Burn Away is not back...Cities Burn Away never left.
CBA was formed to make brutal, melodic metal with a punk rock DIY ethic. We all have our roots in punk rock, and try to pay tribute when we can. After being formed by Craig Krones, Crash Stitches, and Joey Peepers in early November 2004, Cities Burn Away quickly got busy with an explosion of material. They had a goal to hit the studio, eventually recording with Adam Bomb at Afternoon Studios for their debut demo/EP "Shadows in the Scenery" on New Year's Eve.
After playing some shows as a 3-piece, CBA recruited Kyle Watkins on lead guitar in April 2005, and the classic CBA lineup was solidified. Kyle stayed with CBA until he moved to Detroit in Summer of 2006, playing many shows both in town and on the road, and recording the "Return to Grey" EP, again with Adam Bomb, in September 2005.
After Kyle left, CBA searched for a replacement for months, meanwhile playing shows as a 3-piece again and writing new material. After Dean Greenwood (Casket Born, Inhuman, Flesh Collector) joined in September 2006, CBA doggedly plowed on...but too many elements combined at once to silence the band, finally throwing in the towel on its present incarnation on December 23.
After CBA went on hiatus, the members all wenton to different projects. Now time has found Craig and Crash living out in Texas, and writing new material.
We're still on the hunt for members here in Gainesville and the Red River Valley. We need a drummer and 2nd guitarist to complete our live lineup. Conatct us if interested.
