Established high powered
Sydney garage/rock/punk/funk outfit Citizen Dog - what is all the fuss?
United in musical vision, their songs reflect the neighbourhood they grew up in, the characters and experiences that define their lives and loves, and they sing of this country and a world that can both amuse and confuse them with humour, anger and reflection. Couple the grit and dirty funk of the 70s with the power of Rage Against the Machine and Helmet, the melodic smarts of Supergrass and you have an idea of the experience that is Citizen Dog.
Backing up the release of their debut album Urbanology, with the single All Good receiving high rotation on Sydneys Nova 96.9, solid play across dozens of regional stations, toured extensively Australia wide, and successful shows in New York City in 2003.
Then came the cracking new EP to present to their adoring fans. .. features four new tracks and marks a return to the bands high energy roots, proving a favourite with fans.
'The Dog' have been in pre-production and writing for the last 24 months, a new album on the slate mid 2009. With new member and long time producer and friend Nathan Johnson now a permanent fixture as guitar 2 in the band, the brotherhood of D-man, Iv, Marky Bear and Ronnie sparks an all new direction and the music has taken another evolutionary step into the great unknown.
Both albums are available through MGM at all good record stores, or visit www.456records.com
It's been a long time between drinks, but the band is heading to the studio in March 2009 to track the new album, due for release in July 2009...check out the new uploaded demo of one of the songs - 'Judas Smile'....call it a sneak preview of the new sound to come...!!
Hi guys! I so can't wait for ur new album.. I saw u in geelong at the national hotel back in 2004.. we almost dint go, we were like who the fuk is this band? Then we got there n u rocked our socks off! Well newayz.. hope to see ya's in action again sometime =] xCJx
So yeh - whatever - we said May 2008 we were starting the new album, well, there was a small glitch.....the thing is, you see, after Ronnie's testicle tuck operation, everything was going fine...then, because his bollocks are still way oversized compared to the average man, after about six months, they returned back bigger, stronger, and more powerful than ever before...so - he has since begun a U.N and N.A.T.O sanctioned testicle size reduction program that took up most of his spare time. Well, we are pleased to say that the results are in, and the testicles are now only approximately 90% larger than the average man, and that is some thing Ronnie has no problem dealing with. That said, the studio is now booked for March '09, the songs are locked in, the band is flat sticks rehearsing, and we are going to KICK YOUR F****** ARSES with this new album...should (be) finished and on the shelves by July...check out the demo we have uploaded for y'all to copulate over - JUDAS SMILE!!!!! Love & Peace, Citizen Dog....

G'Day fellas! Thanks for the add, I'll agree with steve-o and say I am stoked to see you're still together. I saw you at the Annandale back in about 2003 (?) and remember it vividly. I was there to see a good mate's band that I can't remember the name of! Their music is but a distant blur, but I still have your EP in my car to this day! Thanks for the entertainment. Coming to QLD ever?
Thanks for the add guys. Pumped that you are still together, we thought you must've broken up coz we hadn't heard anything for ages. You will have to get on to Big Paul and organise some gigs in Bris coz Monkiblood is back together. Rock On, Stevo
