Citylife is the Melbourne production duo Gerard Sidhu and Andy Murphy who, prior to the birth of Citylife, worked alongside producer Lionel Towers and were known as The Rascals. The trio created a remix of David Spoon’s ‘Bad Girl’ and a solo track titled ‘Essence’, both of which nestled a comfortable spot in the Top Ten Aria Charts for weeks in a row.
Their recent collaboration with Dennis Dowlut for their latest track San Fransisco, has cemented their position as one of the rising production teams in the competitive dance industry. A pioneer of the Australian RnB scene, Dennis Dowlut is a multi-award winning songwriter who started out in the group Kaylan before forming the highly successful group Disco Montego featuring vocalist Katie Underwood. Dennis has since been busy working in the UK with the likes of Macy Gray and Kaz James.
Stephen Docker, a classically trained violinist from the Victorian College of the Arts brings a classic originality into both the Citylife LIVE sets and in production in the studio. With 15 years experience including having performed with both the Australian Youth Orchestra and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, his contribution has added a certain creativity to the group and an undeniable diversity.
Renowned for his unrivalled technical ability with equipment and proven track record for having an instinct for what dance floors want to hear, DJ / Producer Gerard Sidhu has made his solid mark in Melbourne and is now making his mark on the international stage. Andy Murphy brings a solid DJ flavour stemming from his residency at Australia’s world-class club brand Onelove. A favourite right around Oz, Andy has continued to build on his solid DJ and production profile.
Citylife’s latest track San Francisco is an epic journey through dance, pop and soul. A genuine soul-filled record steeped with an acoustic guitar hook that engulfs you, Dennis’ soaring vocals further enriches the track. San Francisco is set to propel Citylife onto the world stage with a first-class remix package including Carl Kennedy’s (UK) epic Ibiza-inspired mix, the super hot production duo of D.O.N.S. and DBN (Germany), who contributed with an awesome techy, big-room house remix with a hint of European minimal elements. If that isn’t big enough, Fred Falke (France) has got the Indie-nu-disco feel sewn up with his French funk-injected mix, Feenixpawl’s mix for the more straight ahead house mainrooms and finally Starfighter, who might be the new kids on the block but their synth-pop French sounding house remix is an absolute winner.
Citylife is built on a wealth of experience, and a simple passion for producing chart-ripping tracks. They know not to mess with a successful formula.
