About me:
Check out our website here at citylights.com!

Founded in 1953 by poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Peter D. Martin, City Lights is one of the few truly great independent bookstores in the United States. City Lights has a great selection of poetry, fiction, translations, politics, history, philosophy, music, spirituality, and more. Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti made this place famous, and more recently we've hosted numerous authors events and been haunted by such lovelies as Chan Marshall of Cat Power, Jonathan Richman, James Franco, Tom Waits, Viggo Mortensen and others. Come by the store. You never know who'll you'll spy.

In 1955, Ferlinghetti launched City Lights Publishers with the now-famous Pocket Poets Series; since then the press has gone on to publish a wide range of titles, both poetry and prose, fiction and nonfiction, international and local authors. Today, City Lights has well over a hundred titles in print, with a dozen new titles being published each year. The press is known and respected for its commitment to innovative and progressive ideas, and its resistance to forces of conservatism and censorship.

With this bookstore-publisher combination, "it is as if," says Ferlinghetti, "the public were being invited, in person and in books, to participate in that 'great conversation' between authors of all ages, ancient and modern."

Anthology celebrating works by women gone wrong is seeking submissions of art, poetry, short fiction, essays, irreverent criticism, etc. Blistering B-Girl Confessions will have an academic edge as editors examine growing movement of female art soldiers creating on their own terms. Think Lydia Lunch, Ai, Lynda Barry.
Lurid, lascivious and brutally naked submissions should be sent as an attachment to RADaxis7@aol.com.
Feel free to contact me with questions.

Thanks so much for adding me. I love that here in N. Cal we still have so many indie bookstores -- the heart of our literary scene. It's great to connect with other people who love books and know that fiction is as important to "real life" as, well, real life.

Torpedo fiction quarterly mark the 25th anniversary of the death of author Richard Brautigan with a special tribute issue co-edited and with a foreword by Richard Brautigans daughter Ianthe Brautigan.

The special issue features Brautigan inspired fiction from 30 writers, a section of Brautigans own writing in the middle plus a specially designed envelope containing 8 full colour A5 double-sided prints featuring artwork based on his stories. One of which prints is a comic strip by myself, using Richard Brautigans own text, called 'The Library'.
