City Limits Band was one of the Midwest's most popular country music performance groups, comprised of five seasoned Central Illinois musicians that played extensively throughout the U.S. The band was a featured opening act for many national touring shows and appeared on The Nashville Network. CLB also headlined state & county fairs, festivals, homecomings, political events, night clubs, and fundraisers. City Limits Band was also very committed and supportive of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and was involved with many activities to raise funds in support of this worthy cause.
CLB's roots can be traced back to the late 60s when the band was originally known as the Country Orbits. They changed their name to Austin City Limits in the 70s through the early 80s, and in 1988 dropped Austin from their name. Though primarily a top-40 hot country band, CLB also performed southern & classic rock, bluegrass, honky-tonk dance favorites, as well as their own original songs. In 2004, they released their first studio CD, Long Time Comin', a compilation of original songs and fan favorites, which is still available for purchase through CDbaby.com.
City Limits Band officially disbanded in August 2007, but their legacy lives on. While a few of the members have retired from music, several others continue performing with other bands.
