   About City Of Glass
City of Glass

Paranoia. Unrest. Unemployment. Society on the edge of ruin. The state against the individual. Sounds like eighties, doesn’t it?

But it’s now.

That’s why Hull-based City of Glass are a relevant, exciting new voice that must be heard. Driven by an eighties-nostalgic synth engine, all rippling arpeggios and robotic interjections, interwoven with wiry and insolent guitars, and underpinned by bass and drums that are simultaneously danceable and threatening. This is music that has been waiting to happen.

Let’s not forget the songs – they’ve got more hooks than a thigh-length boot, but these are intelligent observations that talk about what it’s like here and now. Singer Deeaay sounds like he’s been there, come back and now he’s going to make you listen, by force if necessary.

Remember social commentary you can dance to?

City of Glass have eaten it up and spat it back at us.

We need this

Lyrics on life, death, love, poverty and all things unseemly.

Get behind the city.

City of Glass are also proud to announce that they have signed a publishing deal to the record company Invisblegirl Records. This deal involves the bands first official release, which is their debut album entitled “Tales From The City”

Press

"Tales From the City" has a nice balance of dark and light with Deeaay's lyrics being the real focus. Issues of insecurity, arrogance, image, the difficulties of love and city life give the listener a real wake up call and remind us that not all songs are just broken up into happy or sad songs and that there is a lot of grey area out there"- Angie Barnes, Hullvibe User

"City Of Glass deal with issues all too common in northern industrial Britain, that of paranoia, unrest and unemployment. The band's brand of eighties inspired synth driven electronica could at its best take a seat at the vacant throne of Hot Chip" -Iain Ferry, Sandman Magazine

“Tales From The City” features 11 songs from the band and is currently available on I-tunes and hardcopy CD. The CD can be obtained at Beasleys (hull) and Chinese Laundry (Hull) plus various gigs that City of Glass will be playing across the country. The Band do hope to set up a mail order system for those wanting a hardcopy but details of that will be announced later in the year.

Hi guys, hope you're well! Just thought you might be interested in our new 7-11 deal, running every Monday & Tuesday evening!

Are you a band that have just started and wish to get some early demos recorded to get gigs?

Are you looking to track the progress of your rehearsals?

Are you on a tight budget but still wish to record in a top pro studio?

Then come and join us for our 7-11 Deal!!!

The Deal
The 7-11 deal is a great opportunity for bands to come and record their music in a top professional recording studio. The deal runs on Monday and Tuesday evenings (at the moment) between 7pm and 11pm and lets bands play together live and record the results!
This gives bands 4 hours of straight live recording (as opposed to multi-tracking) where they can get as much or as little done as possible….

The Price
Right, here comes the important bit…. the price! For this service we are charging a very competitive £80 which includes a rough mix of the tracks recorded. If you're in a four piece band then that works out at £20 each!!! Well worth it!

Even more importantly we are offering the first 5 bands who book on this deal 50% off!! Thats four hours of live rehearsal or live demo recording for £40!!!

The Booking
To book simply phone the studio manager Dave on 07983 782794 or during office hours at the studio on 01482 218696.

I always keep a keen interest in local keyboard orientated bands, since my own attempts to put such a band together were scuppered by guitar orientated bands pinching members! - So I had to settle as a "keyboard Octopus", in other words, solo performing! - See you around, Tim.

Hey :)

Check it out! I wrote a free book on music production! It's for total beginners, but if you aren't new to music production, maybe you'll still learn something... at least you can send it to your friends who always want to ask you a billion questions about music production! It's totally free too; my goal with this is to accumulate as many BFF's as possible.

To download, go to http://www. donimusic. com/musicproductionschool/

Keep on increasing that peace!
