CITY RAIN
Hailing From Dunfermline, City Rain are an innovative young band who produce cutting edge indie/rock material influenced by the likes of The Who, Primal Scream & Kasabian. The band formed in 2002 with Frontman & Guitarist Dean McDonald, Drummer,Vocals & Songwriter Gary Heaney, Lead Guitarist Lee Christie and Bass Guitarist Craig Reid. The band started off doing local gigs and entered and won various battle of the bands contests including 'Fife Battle of the Bands' at Rothes Halls in Glenrothes for which they earned 30 hours of recording time at A.C.R Studios, Dunfermline. The band were also chosen as finalists in the 'Do It' project run by Fife Council and the Sub Station for which they earned more recording time and filmed a Dvd featuring a live gig and interview with the band. Meanwhile, the band continue to produce more powerful guitar driven tracks such as ''Chemical Vision'', ''Get Down'', and their most recent recording and favourite ''Spaceman''. The lads have gained much experience doing local gigs and have now progressed further affield to Glasgow, Edinburgh, ''The Cavern Club'' in Liverpool (A venue famous for its connection to The Beatles) and did their debut at the ''Roadhouse'' in Manchester on the 3rd February, 2007 where they went down an absolute storm and were rewarded with an invitation to return and headline the venue on 24th March. The band have generated a large following of fans and are recognised for many of their original raw sounding tracks. They are very dedicated, full of energy and enthusiasm and come across as very tight together. As well as sounding good on cd, City Rain have the exception of being able to perform even better live than the sound on thier recordings, unlike most bands today. The band have had several interests from various record labels including one from the U.S as things are really starting to happen for them. 2007 is shaping up to be a great year for the the lads (Watch This Space). They are aged 18 & 19 and now is their time! They have a fantastic original sound and deserve to be out there. They are new and exciting with great prospects for the future. City Rain are the new sound of the millenium.
