In the summer of 2008, good friends Jarrett Stanley, TJ Mckinney, and John Davis formed a band. Having interacted musically for many years prior, as well as building friendships via long nights playing COD 4, the collaboration seemed all too logical. They worked on their music, sans vocals, for the remainder of 2008 before undertaking the search for a serious singer and songwriter towards the end of the year. The addition of longtime friend and singer Suzanne Smith was made in late December; after a short trial period, she was officially made a part of the group, and City Voices was born.
The band commenced rehearsals and songwriting at the start of 2009. They have finished recording their first EP and are currently mixing the final product, all within a span of four months.
In other words, four friends just happened to share a love for making music. And so, they just happened to start a band. That band happens to be City Voices... which kind of proves that nothing ever just happens.
Enjoy.
