Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Christian Parenti, David Barsamian, and Diane Roberts are just some of the many speakers the CMC has helped bring to Gainesville.

About me:
The Civic Media Center is a library of the independent and non-corporate press. The CMC, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, strives to educate, organize, and empower individuals and the masses in order to achieve social gain in the city of Gainesville, the state of Florida, the United States, and the whole world.

Who I'd like to meet:
The uneducated and educated, the impoverished and lavished, the homeless and homed, the oppressed and oppressors, the disallowed and allowed, the dying and thriving, the forgotten and remembered, the unheard and heard, the unknown and known, the segregated and segregators, the resisters and resisted, the revolutionaries and loyalists, the terrorized and terrorists, the pacifists and hawks, the fighters and apathetic, and the dead and living.
Especially all the former.
Activists of all kind including anti-war/peace, reproductive rights, civil rights and liberties, LGBT, immigration, labor, third world, media, election, veterans', free speech, feminist, minority, anti-globalization, solidarity, environmental, animal, anti-imperialist, healthcare, education, and social programs.
