Our band started off as (I'll will use the monikers from Political Prisoners) 'The Belligerants' i'd say around 1988-89. It was Billy Ruin (Matt)Guitar and vocals, Kenny Schmitzer - Bass And Me on drums, in my parents basement. We sucked all ass so we moved out to the garage for a few months.
Eventually, Phin-Knee-Us (Justin) came over one night with some wanker kid (who needless to say got dropped) and we became....as cheesy as this is....'The Dead Fish Club'. I began playing bass, Kenny moved to drums, Matt remained on guitar and Justin was vocals.
This is the turning point in the band, when we actually realized we could do something. One night The Red Guru (Rick) shows up at practice and is the Rhythm Guitar. We fucked around with this lineup for a couple years or so playing shows at the Capitol in Flint and at 404 Willis in Detroit mainly, eventually Rick gave up the Rhythm, became 2nd vocaals and in stepped Joe Average (Johnny) rhythm guitar . This was the time period that we wrote all the shit for the demo and recorded it. Next thing you know.....how fucking ironic/moronic is this..... Kenny decides he's going into the fucking Marines after graduation.... and so he does. (kinda a fuckin cheesy bastard anyways) So we Find Chief Migawa (Kevin) who would be with us till the end.
By now we are practicing at Johnny's house in backwoods fuckin Caro, playing shows in Ann Arbor and the lot. This is the time in which the 7" was born and recorded. (the band was the same lineup as the demo except the drummer) And we were now practicing in Detroit. Johnny got wanky with all the funny water they drink in hickville and moved to Port Huron so fuckin practice was a fuckin nightmare....i would drive from Saginaw and someone would have to drive out to get Johnny......... and Kevin (who relocated to Ann Arbor) every weekend.
Johnny went bye bye and enter Nosferatu (Jeff) So blah, blah....a year or so later everyone decides it would be good to move out to Minneapolis cuz that was where all our connections were (Profane, etc.) and we had played out there and in New York and shit and was looking for a bit more than dreary-ass fuckin Detroit. So we're off.....It is the SHIT for a year or two then shit went downhill. We recorded the album and not to long after ,Rick got bounced out of the band and so enters Martial Flaw (who makes a cameo on the Lp).
We went on tour and shit (i ain't even gonna go into that right now) but I will give ya the run-down....you might wanna skip this.......
September 1996.
Start in Minneapolis, MN

So we came back and stuck together for a couple more years....here is a secret.... We recorded one more 7" which will be out eventually. Jeff got the boot soon there after, we took a couple months hiatus and when we came back together it was never quite the same. I got a call to go to practice one night and i just coudn't do it anymore cuz shit was fucked and I quit....thereby dissolving Civil Disobedience.
Boo-fuckin-Hoo that is my sob story....i feel all fuckin VH1 now.
