The Civilian Fun Group is a band from Ann Arbor. Michigan. The group formed in the winter of 1982. It disbanded in 1985. It performed a reunion show in October of 2007 at the Halfway Inn, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Two songs by the band, "Pleasure Dog," and "West Beirut," are featured in the movie "Adventureland," directed by Greg Mottola ("Superbad"). The film takes place in the mid 1980s, so this makes some sense. You can check out these songs and a few others above.
Adventureland has its general theatrical release on April 3, 2009. Go check it out! It looks great.
