Robbie Wright: Your Entertainment Reporter's Details
Robbie Wright: Your Entertainment Reporter's Blurbs
About me: I am an entertainment reporter from Columbus, Georgia. I write for the oldest (and best!) entertainment magazine in Columbus - “Playgrounds Magazine.” I created this MySpace page to use as a reporter, photographer, and interviewer's page as I occasionally contact bands here on MySpace for articles or interviews... ...and also to keep up with a few friends, and maybe make some friends and connections while I'm at it!
Your Entertainment Reporter: I interview local (and sometimes not local) musicians and other people of entertainment interest, and cover what's going on musically Downtown. I'm also a part-time photographer for Playgrounds, and collect show dates from the Downtown music scene.
Check my Top Friends out! Most of the bands and/or solo artists I have interviewed or written articles on are featured there! My Blog serves as my article archive. Look for past articles and/or interviews there!
Photographer Extraordinaire: In addition to entertainment reporting, I'm also a semi-professional photographer. You can view my latest photographs on my photoblog. I love getting feedback on the photographs I have taken, so leave me some!
I mostly shoot with a Canon EOS 20D, coupled with a Canon 50mm prime lens. I also have a Canon FTb with a Sigma 28 - 200mm lens, and a few other EF lenses in my "arsenal." My uncle, the professional photographer Walter Mallard, heavily influences me in the photography field.
Walter Mallard is my Official Photographer. He's awesome! Check him out!
HEY! NO JOKE, READ THIS: DO NOT COPY OR REPRODUCE ANY OF THE PHOTOGRAPHY FEATURED ON THIS MYSPACE PAGE WITHOUT PERMISSION! (you won’t like what’ll happen if you do!)
If you are in the Columbus, Georgia area - then pick up a copy of Playgrounds Magazine locally or, if not, you can read it online at

Hey, I really need to get Mallard to come to the Strutting Duck with me some Tuesday... about the best open mic I've seen in years, and the ambiance is incredibly filmic. Jump onto I-85 at Opelika, head to Exit 42 in Auburn, Wire Road, head to the right, towards downtown. Also, Tuesdays is all-you-can-eat pasta night... well worth the drive!
No, for some reason I never saw them... perhaps sent to an email I never use? If you could resend them to will.dockery at gmail.com, the only one I really use (the others are "dummy" accounts to divert spam and whatnot), I'd really dig having a look at them... black & white, if I remember correctly? Perfect for what we need, may even bump the comic strip to the inside lyric booklet and use your photo for the front (Sulzbach is already talking about doing an illustration to match the plot of each song, anyhow, so this could work) anyway, just in case I somehow missed it, I'll go digging through the email... from the quick glimpse that Summer day, I feel the prize cover shot is in those papparazzi sessions!
And man, I need to tell you about the fantastic dream I had that *everyone* was in a few minutes ago, even people I never met yet! An epic dream of Dave & Vickie Carson buying the old Columbus Square Mall (yes, in the dream it was never demolished!) and turning it into a massive multimedia arts palace... then it devolved into me and Brother Dave /inside/ an Andy Griffith sepiatone episode ending with Andy repeating "You backed into the ditch!", odd mind I have to contend with... heh.
Hey, Robbie, found out how the photos taken last summer came out, are they online somewhere where I can get a look at them? We're trying to get the CD album "Shadowville Speedway" out by April, in time for the Hogbottom show, I have a comix art cover by George Sulzbach lined up, and HC wants a photo of us for the back cover... is it still on with you? Or did they come out usable, in your opinion?
Hey, Robbie--- Julie informed me yesterday that all systems are go for a photoshoot Sunday at 5pm. I've contacted Henry and Gene, for us to meet at Mallard's house at that time. Conley says we need a total of three shots, one of me, one of me & Conley, and one of me, Conley and Woolfolk... and some Shadowvillian style backdrop, perhaps behind Rhino's in the alley comes to mind as a great spot. I'll let you and Julie throw some feedback out on this, and thanks.

Hey Robbie, Robbie. I tried leaving a comment on one of your pictures just now and it said that I had to be your friend. I am your friend. You're in my top friends. I don't know why "TOM" told me I could leave a comment. Maybe he hasn't gotten the memo that we are MySpace friends yet :-)
