This is a tribute site to Culture Shock - the UK ones, as opposed to the Indianapolis/Holland/Scotland/Bhangra music lot (seemed to be a popular name!) - mixed their punk roots with ska and reggae music to a previously unheard extent and influenced the styles of bands like AOS3, Back to the Planet, Bender, at a time when the free festival scene was under state attack following the cessation of the Stonehenge Festival; CS were one of a heap of bands playing as many festivals as possible, alongside their more regular gigs and this earned them a broard range of support. Their three LPs, Go Wild, Onwards and Upwards and All The Time!, were released on Bluurg Records. They did 205 gigs between 86-89 and split when Nigel (guitar) and Bill (drums) became parents. Paul on bass was replaced by Jasper (ex Rhythmites) in 89 and he and Dick (vocals) formed Citizen Fish.
hi guys, help me, I can..t be a friend of Dick Lucas coz am in a band ... but you are friends with him...so maybe you are able to get him to invite my friendship-..Culture shock is a band engraved with memories within me and am still listening to them, 20 years later. ... the years of squating, free festivals and the continual pursuit of the law trying to stop us from just being ourselves...Now I am older, I don..t think a lot different..from when I was 20 ... and I..ll still throw bricks for freedom, justice and the fight against circus..,G8 or G20, capitalist(whatever the fuck it..s got to by now)and the arseholess who think they..ll always be better..(politicians) ...and Culture Shock music and Dick..s lyrics have been relatable to since then till now and are still continuning..
and I as I say on every comment..

One of my favorite bands ever, after all these years.
BTW, anyone know where to get a copy of "Go Wild, All the Time" other than Amazon? I guess they're out of production and the cheapest one I found there was over $100. No joke.
