Obviously I love music. Look at my 'friends' list here, but you know, "music makes the world go 'round"; "Music hath charms to soothe the savage breast";"Where words fail, music speaks", etc.
I love all kinds of music, except for the really *twangy* country stuff.
Oh, and really nasty rap, because, honestly some things are better left unsaid.
Indie stuff and club stuff, but not 'Madonna' club stuff. Small club stuff, like Yonder or Velcro Pygmies or REM, back in the day.
Canadian bands are cool, as are most college bands. I'm also really loving Imogen Heap, Bec Lavelle, Lisa Chappell and Damhnait Doyle right now, as well as Melissa McLelland..maybe because I can sing along?
I do own a Kelly Clarkson cd, but NO Britney Spears cd's. I think that confession makes me break even on the 'cool meter'.
Movies
I always forget to go see movies in the theaters, and then end up catching them on cable, after I have purchased the dvd.
I love old stuff with Cary Grant. I love any John Wayne movie that pairs him with John Ford.
I like romance and fluff in my movies, because life is serious as it is, without having to pay $7+ for more sturm und drang.
Oh, and stupid is always good, too. Wacky hi-jinks abound!
Television
Avonlea, The Black Donnellys, Friday Night Lights, Scrubs, Ugly Betty, Veronica Mars, This Is Wonderland, Heroes,
McLeod's Daughters, BBCA's Robin Hood, Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, Dresden Files, Lost
Invasion, Boston Legal, Blood Ties, Desperate Housewives, Gray's Anatomy, 24, Alias..yup, I watch too much TV. And yup, I realize some of my shows are no longer on the air. Long live dvds!
Books
If it is written down, I will read it. Seriously. Bathroom walls, signs, billboards, books...
Authors: J.K. Rowling, LM Montgomery, Diana Gabaldon, Stephenie Meyer
Heroes
My silly mom, my wonderful kids, my amazing friends and Harper Lee, who wrote the perfect book, and stopped at one.
Happy Mothers DAy!! My college son, got a job down south for summer, won't see him until Christmas maybe.. like boohoo!! Is yours coming home from college?? Best Wishes from one Mama to another Mama...
Hey Nanners :) I know how much you love Harper Lee; today's her birthday, and I put up a video tribute on my page. Come by if you want & take a look! Been thinkin' about you; if you've had April showers this past month, here's hoping for the flowers to bloom soon :) xoxo, ~Daisy~

Canada is to abolish visas for Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Lithuania today.
This will allow the citizens of these countries to travel to Canada and remain within its territory for 3 months without a visa.
The decision will officially be announced by Diane Finley, the Canadian minister for immigration and citizenship during her meeting with the ambassadors of Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Lithuania around 6 PM CET. The decision will be valid the moment it is announced.
Later, Finley will visit the John Paul II Center in Toronto, where she will meet representatives of the Polish community, which has been long campaigning for abolishing visas. (mn) **********************************
This is wonderful news. It should make it easier for our friends from Europe to attend future Avonlea Conventions in Toronto.
