   Christine's Blurbs
About me:
I take life head on and often triumphs. I have battled a noncancerous brain tumor for close to 9 years now. I went without electricity and running water for 6 months and one year, respectively. During that time, I would fill gallon jugs up at a neighbor’s or my father’s home. In terms of light, I utilized lamps for the most part. At the same time, I provided the basic necessities to my youngest brother who lived with me. Sometimes this meant going without food and clothing for myself. In particular, this occurred a lot between late 2000 and early 2003. The Fall 2003 semester at Stephen F. Austin State University (SFASU) arrived. Despite the fatigue and other problems the brain tumor often caused, I drove myself 400 miles (round trip) from Hope, Arkansas to Nacogdoches, Texas to complete my MBA degree requirements. I even paid my youngest brother to go with me 2 or 3 times each week just in case my sickness got worse during the trip. In December 2003, I earned my MBA degree. Since that time, I have worked part-time or temp jobs, strived hard to create my own business (slowly but gradually since Feb. 2005), and have already earned a third degree from the University of Phoenix (DLP) Master's of Management program in Public Administration as of September/October 2007. In fact, I graduated with over a 3.8 GPA. Sadly, my father died (August 2007) before I had the opportunity to accomplish some of my aspirations that I wanted him to see. Nevertheless, I had a strong desire to fulfill those aspirations as I know he would be very proud. I seldom take medicine, rarely go to the hospital, and do everything for myself. At times, I walked up to 6 miles (one way) each day to take care of errands for myself and my father for the better part of 3 years (until I finally got a vehicle in May 2006). Currently, I am working on my MS in Accounting degree through Liberty University (LU). When I graduate, I will take the CPA Exam to acquire my CPA license for the State of Arkansas. It should be noted that I have already been offered a position of Accountant and will earn at least the minimum salary paid to CPAs in Arkansas at that time. This employment was offered to me by a member of an upcoming gospel music group who just signed a record deal lesser than one year ago. Even with that employment, I have aspired to have a small home-based business every since I was nine years old. One in which I can utilize my God given talents for both profitable and nonprofitable purposes. Yet, it is my desire to always give God the glory for enabling me to accomplish all that I have. Some profitable purposes include business consultations, accounting, tax preparation, auditing, grant writing assistance, creative writing, freelancing, etc. The main nonprofitable purpose is the Christian newsletter, CHANGE-IN TIMEZ® that I began in August 2007 and serve as writer, editor, producer, distributor and owner. The newsletter used to be monthly (August 2007-August 2008) but I revamped it to bi-monthly and changed the format/style. One reason is because I sometimes struggle with fatigue from being sick. Yet, writing is my passion and to stop doing that when no one cares to visit or call me--well, that would be like giving up on my life... I WOULD STRONGLY LIKE TO BEGIN MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY because I have a lot to say. Additionally, I think it would benefit many individuals. The myspace lending group could help me achieve this goal. PS One amazing thing about me (as if you weren't already impressed), I led the nation in scoring in 1997 for the National Small Colleges Athletic Association (NSCAA) while playing basketball for the Women's Basketball Team at Bradford College. In addition, I was in the top five in two other categories: rebounds and assists.
Who I'd like to meet:
The Deal or No Deal crew--including Howie Mandel and The Banker. Michael Jordan, Oprah Winfrey, Tara Banks, Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) and her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus--above all else, Jesus Christ.
