I also work with the very talented pro tools, adobe audition, and logic pro software to get songs from my brain to a recording! The Chris Palermo Orchestra is augmented by my very nice collection of vintage Kramer guitars. I also have a little help from my boyz Jack Daniels and Sammy Adams! I consider myself a songwriter first and a pretty good guitarist but can also carry myself on the bass guitar, drums, and keys. I do a lot of writing on acoustic guitar(that's how "Cryin' Baby" started) and also find that writing songs on piano or a synth is a great jump-off point. I think a songwriter should have at least some knowledge of the main instruments to truly be able to write a well-rounded song.

Prince is my main man. The day after I saw the "Purple Rain" movie I ran out and bought myself and guitar and amp. I then taught myself how to play. Daryl Hall and John Oates are the best songwriting duo ever and Daryl has the best male voice around. Expose' is probably where I get my heavy dance music influence and Gioia Bruno's voice is incredible. I learned how to play guitar from Eddie Van Halen(learning from his recordings from record albums. I can play his solo from "Hot For Teacher note for note!) and LOVE freestyle music from the likes of Stevie B. and Lisa Lisa. I really groove to R&B/dance music from the late 80's to the early 90's. Stuff that Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis, Teddy Riley, Babyface, and producers like that really kicked ass! I was spinning during that time and have CRATES full of those 12 inches in my basement!
