Influences
All women singer/songwriters known and unknown, signed and unsigned. God, my Mom and Dad...my sister...and many more to come, I'm sure. I am always influenced!
CJ Sister was formed in 2002 by two (real) sisters - Bridget and Shannon. We lost our mother (Carol Jean) to breast cancer on July 4, 2000 and, in her memory, went on a national tour we called "Fight For Your Life" ~ promoting breast cancer awareness and singing our songs. CJ Sister to date has raised over $15,000 towards a scholarship fund in our mother's name which we use to help support people pursue their passion for the arts. Shannon and I remain best buddies today - but for the past 5 years, I lived in NYC and Shannon in Colorado, which made it difficult for us to jam together anymore. HOWEVER, on May 1, 2007, I left NYC to make a second round of the US, and in the spirit of CJ Sister, I travelled for a month and a half with my dog Winni and finally moved west. I hope to continue the discussion with my fellow SISTERS about breast cancer and other important issues that effect women today as I begin my new life out here.
