About me:
paul thomas anderson had some kind words about my forthcoming feature film in a long email. i have extracted the relevant bits from the message and put them here:

wanted to pass a note along saying i finally had a spare moment to read 'heat sink.' it's wonderful. strange and heartbreaking and really moving. an actor has a tall order playing this part [harvey, the main character] with all the internal emotion that's required. i can't wait to see it.
[mona, female lead] is a wonderful part. have no idea if you're shooting/prepping/looking, but whatever stage you're at, enjoy it while it lasts it'll be over before you know it.

HEAT SINK | feature film
written, directed & score by: cj wallis
Heat Sink is an uplifting dramatic film buried deep in the world of the death industry. The story follows struggling author Harvey Harris, who writes inspirational passages for Greengrove funeral home to keep the wolf from the door.
When Harvey’s latest novel is universally rejected, and he is feeling more distanced than ever from the world and everyone that surrounds him - a desperate move leads him to sneaking into the very funerals he writes about as a bizarre form of self-help therapy, gaining temporary love and acceptance from those people who are at their most vulnerable and self-less state of mind.
The death of Harvey’s mother, coupled with a chance meeting of a strong-willed woman named Mona, will force Harvey to confront his greatest fears about loss and rejection and how to find a way to connect through the most severe forms of disconnection.
status: pre-production
a wonderful way to bring in the new year is having paul thomas anderson review your little short film favorably:
