City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Youth Council's Blurbs

About me:
Since 1999 the young people of Kalgoorlie-Boulder have been represented by the Youth Council. Made up of dedicated young people between the ages of 12 and 25, the group meets regularly to discuss youth issues, initiatives, programs and services concerning the youth of their city. If you have been to a family or community event run by the Council, chances is that the Youth Council helped out in some way. The members of the YC all have different areas of strength and are working for their fellow young people. They are responsible for the organising and running of various events including Open Mic Night, YouthFest and Charity Fundraising. If you have any new and exciting ideas or plans for the young people of your community please let us know, we would love to hear from you! Bands@Manjimup	Mar 16 2009 5:16 AM Hey fellow YACers. Thanks for responding to our current Friends drive and adding Bands@Manjimup. We are doing this because we have a few really exciting events coming up like our next concert featuring Elora Danan on their debut album tour, Manji prog rock band Ashoka and Perth ambient rockers Laced Affair. They hit the Manji Town Hall stage on Friday, 20th March, and you'd be mad to miss that gig. Bring a friend and you'll both get in for $10. That's $5 each! Plus, we’re running fun competitions for free entry. Look out for our Bulletins. Next, we'll be hosting the biggest regional event in this year's WAMi Festival calendar, on 22nd May. Bit too early to talk names but we're sure we'll blow you away when we do. Following day some of them will feature as lecturers in our B@M Youth Muso Workshops, plus some leading musicians from even bigger bands. We'll keep you updated with bulletins and you may want to tap into the bands listed on our Top 40. You'll always find the performers at our next gig right up the top. At the other end you'll find bands that want to play at B@M. Send us a comment if you like them and they maybe get the go. Bands that recently joined please check out our blog “The Deal for Bands” and send a comment to indicate you want to play here and we'll put you up on the Top 40.
